Eric and Isiah manage the location and for the most part do well trying to adhere to Smart Start's rules and methods to nickel and dime a person for everything it can. When the interlock was first installed, Eric read through a 3 page document on the different rules for using the Smart Start interlock. I asked for a copy of the document and there was none. I asked if I could take a photo of each page and he refused. Within the month, an incident occurred where my interlock got locked out, forcing me to pay over $250 to get unlocked. This issue may have been understood if I had a copy of that 3 page document. Another issue is calibration dates are set for every 4 weeks. However, the billing cycle is set monthly so eventually the dates are weeks apart. If you do a calibration and the monthly payment hasn't been done yet because it is days or weeks later, they still want you to pay at calibration. AutoPay is another issue. If you do not do AutoPay, you pay extra per month, so don't stop AutoPay to resolve the timing issue. This difference needs to be fixed by Smart Start. Forget trying to get customer support from the 800 number as you'll be on hold for 30 minutes or so. Find this station's local phone number and you'll get faster answers. Smart Start was recommended but I would suggest checking some other interlock companies that may be cheaper and don't have these issues.

I have a interlock requirement in a different state. I got the interlock installed and then went to my DMV appt to get my license reinstated. They said the company has not sent any report. Even though it has been 2 months now. So I called the shop and they say to call the corporate office. The entire thing is automated I have literally hit every single button on there just to get somebody on the phone and the entire directory is automated. So I sent them a email and they said it would take two business days for them to respond back it is now been a week.

I wasn’t looking forward to this appointment, especially since it was mandatory, and I came in feeling pretty annoyed. However, Isaac and eric who assisted me completely changed my perspective. He was professional, kind, and made the whole process much more comfortable than I expected. His calm and respectful approach helped ease my frustration and made the experience far better than I anticipated. I truly appreciated his attitude—it made a real difference
