My wife absolutely loves this place. I swear she spends every minute here. And also, it makes her really happy. So it makes me happy. And whenever I go in here, they're always super nice. And they greet you at the door they even go as far as keeping the place pretty neat. Thank you so much jcpenney

Overpriced, low quality clothing. The last dress shirt I bought looks really nice. However, the "polo style" shirts that I've bought loose their color after a few washes. I stopped buying dress shirts here as they are priced really high. I can buy better quality shirts for the same price at other reputable retail stores.

Not really sure why stores like JCPenny still exist, their clothing selection isn’t really great, their Levi display is poorly done. And sales online don’t reflect in store prices. At least target will match their online prices, so save yourself the stress and just go there.

Today 28th of December 2025, 2:10 pm I had a very bad experience trying to exchange an item for a smaller size. A young man was the cashier wearing glasses, tall and dressed in Black. We went up to him with the product and its receipt having just bought it yesterday at another location, we went to this location due to it being closer to us. He said we can bring the product to exchange or get a refund in the form of a JCPenny gift card. We were unable to find the products smaller size so I went back to him.
Refund? I answered yes and He said cash or card. I told him I payed in cash so i asked him if its possible to get it. He told me it would be 3 dollars with cents and I told him no because I would lose my rewards I had used to get that product. I asked him If instead I could get a gift card instead to get it at another location.
I was misfortunate that next to him at another register the manager Jean Marie, she came over and I explained to her I wanted to take back the original item and its receipt so instead I can go to another store to exchange it for the same value I had received it at but the proper size. She said no because the register was already open and now she just needed to give me the 3 dollars. I opposed this as why couldnt they just cancel it instead of making me lose my rewards that I had worked hard for where If i would have gone back to where I bought it I wouldve lost money buying it at the original price, meaning my discount would go to waste.
She proceeded to not give me my original receipt and that she needed to give me the return receipt. I was given no money. I took the original receipt and item and placed it in the JCPenny bag I had brought it in. Jean told me she had marked it as returned so we wouldnt exchange it somewhere else.
This is a true showcase of sloppiness and lack of proper customer service. Especially for the role she is supposed to carry as a higher official problems are solved by. The type of job she works is not one to be evil in and careless, it is the exact opposite, helpful through proper situation management and cooperation from both sides.
What makes this worse than it could be is what happened next.
We left to another store to report this, where we learned that she had marked it as defective in the condition we returned it in. This is an absolute lie and deception as they themselves could see it was in great condition. How could Jean be such a liar to make our experience not just horrible at her location, but at other JCPenny stores. She is not the Owner of the brand or the store, this item and its exchange does not impact her life in some extraordinary way. I can not stay silent over this abuse of power. From the little I have seen she has no profesional etiquette for her job. Any Cameras of the register can show she did not give me the return money although she marked it and that the product was in good condition.
I am considering going to higher levels for this complaint of Jean Marie.

I came to JCPenney's in Alamo ranch and I was looking for some sweatpants. I was trying to find out how much they were. two employees told me they were $14.99. I got up to the register and he told me they were $40. he went to go check to see if they were $14.99. I got the wrong brand apparently but I told him two employees told me they were $14.99 and he did not want to honor it. they would not be getting my business again. he was such a grinch. it's Christmas!
