The two book sale employees were both rude to me and I felt like I was nothing but polite. When I asked if I could use the cart to get books out of my car I was told, "No, you can't because of liability! We have to do it for you." (perhaps a "Sorry, but it's our policy to help you with that"?) Then I waited TWO HOURS for my quote, hanging around the store. Do you think they could have warned me? Maybe said, "We are very busy today, we are happy to take your books but you might want to return tomorrow for the quote?" (nope, none of that, rather treat me like I am a burden to them) Then when I asked the male book buyer (manager?) if they return boxes I got, "Yes, of course we return your boxes if you want them. Why not? See, here are your boxes. Want them?" (rude tone). Yes, I have worked customer service and know it's stressful when it's busy but these people need to up their game, say please, thank-you, sorry, etc. In the end I got $14.50 for 5 boxes of pretty good books. I highly recommend that you do not take your books here. The public libraries and PTAs can use them and they are polite and grateful.
