    Well stocked store and merchandise is not junkie, isles of displayed items are neatly stocked and it is easy to navigate around the displays. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

    There’s a lot of upselling that goes on in this store. Which is fine as long as the sales associate is being upfront and truthful. Unfortunately, this was not the case here! Initially when I arrived at the counter the sales associate saw me, walked out from behind the counter, then went to another counter where there were no customers at all. So I left to see if the other department stores had what I was looking for and they did not. So I had to return. Upon my return I went back to the counter and the same sales associate I saw earlier was in deep conversation with another sales associate. They both saw me, but it was the new sales associate who asked if I needed help after a minute or two. Now I specifically asked for solitaires and the she stated all of the diamond earrings are solitaires. I was skeptical cause the ones she pulled out didn’t look like solitaires, and she even steered me towards a particular set. (Everything looks shiny under those white lights. Keep this in mind.) Now these earrings were on sale. I then asked if they came with screw backs and she said “yes”. She asked me if I wanted the protection package and I declined. Then as soon as I slid my card she said, “if you would have gotten the protection package it would have come with screw backs”—huh?? But didn’t I just confirm that they did come with screw backs? So I just purchased earrings that do not come with screw backs because they are not considered “certified”. So I had to ask what that meant as well as “graded”, which is essentially a rating system for diamonds or other stones. To help a sale education is really best so the customer can have all of the information to make a decision to purchase or not. So when I got to my car and looked at the earrings under regular lighting, I determined they are not solitaires, which have more of a flash when light bounces off of them instead of the sparkle like regular diamonds. So I’m not happy with this product, and because I didn’t feel like dealing with those particular sales associates again, I decided I’ll return during the week or just go to another JC Penney to make an exchange. Hopefully my experience will be better and the sales associate will understand the type of diamond I want!
