If you have to go get a device, go to irving! the techs are knowledgable and most importantly customer friendly. Jonathan is AMAZING! Not only did he install when no one else in FW could, he took the time to explain in detail to me the process. Called today about removal and he explained the new rules about the documentation and possible 7 days- unlike any rep I spoke with from the regular call center. he spoke great and listened to my concerns. If I had a business I would hire him. Calling the main nbumber is a night mare- most of ther reps dont speak good english, they are rude, and talks over you while you are speaking. I understand it could be a diffucult job, but if you dont like your job go work somewhere else! no customer deserves to be talked to crazy or yelled at or talked over or told "you dont like it disconnect the call!" The 5 stars is ONLY for Jonthan not Smart start.

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
