I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to speak on my experience at Alo Yoga in the Houston Galleria. I drove all the way from Beaumont, which is about a 2-hour trip with traffic, because I genuinely like the brand and don’t mind spending money on quality items. But the customer service I received completely ruined the experience. The cashier was very unfriendly and came off like she didn’t want to be there at all. No greeting, no smile, no effort just cold energy. And honestly, when customers are spending hundreds of dollars in a store, the least you can do is be welcoming and respectful. What made it even more frustrating is that I tried calling the store beforehand (since they have a number listed), and no one ever answers. That’s unacceptable, especially for a store in such a major location. It’s disappointing because Alo is not cheap, and customers expect a certain level of service to match those prices. Instead, I left feeling like my business didn’t matter at all. I really hope management takes the time to read reviews and address this, because situations like this are exactly why people stop supporting brands.

I had a very frustrating experience with this store. They never answer the phone, which already makes it difficult to get any help. I placed an order for pickup and confirmed over the phone that my item was available. I was even told I could come in and speak with a manager to have it released to me in person. However, when I arrived at the store, I was told they couldn’t give me the item after all. This was a complete waste of my time and very disappointing, especially after being told something completely different beforehand. The lack of communication and inconsistency in their responses is unacceptable. I expected much better customer service.

My experience at Alo on Westheimer was unfortunately very disappointing, mainly customer service. The staff were not helpful at all and didn’t communicate in a friendly or welcoming way. It honestly felt like they didn’t care about assisting customers. The cashier was the worst part of the experience. Her attitude was very unpleasant — she acted like she didn’t want to be there, ignored what I was saying, and behaved as if she couldn’t hear me. On top of that, her looks and expressions were rude and uncomfortable. I went there to return an item because I didn’t like the color, and at the same time I was planning to purchase a shirt and pants. However, because of the poor treatment, I completely lost interest in buying anything. I really hope they improve their customer service, because the store and products are nice, but the way customers are treated makes you not want to come back again.

I am writing this review because my experience at this ALO location was extremely concerning and reflects a serious issue with staff training and store management. I walked in intending to purchase one hoodie. The sales associate immediately became very pushy and repeatedly brought me additional items I clearly said I did not need. Even after declining several times, she continued insisting I try more pieces. I eventually ended up with six items in the fitting room, despite originally wanting just one hoodie. When I tried on the Oliver Green hoodie, I layered it over my white base shirt. The moment I removed it, my shirt was covered in lint and fuzz from the hoodie, which raised concerns about the product quality and made me decide not to purchase it. This was not my first time shopping at this location. During a previous visit, a sales associate told me that when finished in the fitting room, customers could simply leave the items there and notify staff so they could count them. Following that same process, I informed the associate that I did not like the six items and signaled for them to count them. At that point, another associate pointed directly at me and loudly said: “YOU. Go get the clothes right now and fold them for me.” I was completely shocked by the tone and the way I was addressed. When I calmly explained that this was the procedure I had been told during my previous visit, she responded with the statement: “It’s people like YOU who don’t follow the rules that make us lose money and items.” This comment strongly implied that I was somehow responsible for theft or store loss, which is an extremely serious and inappropriate accusation toward a paying customer. For context, I have purchased many items from ALO over time and have spent hundreds of dollars at this location alone. Being spoken to in this manner was completely unacceptable. In order to avoid escalating the situation, I returned to the fitting room, folded all six items myself while staff stood nearby watching, and brought the clothes out to the fitting room entrance. Only then did they reach out to take them. To make matters worse, the associate who originally pushed those six items on me gave me a visibly hostile look when she realized I was not purchasing anything. This entire experience raises serious concerns about: • Staff professionalism • Customer service training • Store management oversight Being pointed at, spoken to aggressively, and implicitly accused of causing store losses is not acceptable behavior in any retail environment, especially from a brand that positions itself as a premium athleisure company. I strongly encourage ALO corporate or regional management to review staff conduct and training at this location, because this interaction was deeply unprofessional and reflects poorly on the brand. After this experience, I will not be returning to this store.
