Jeremy helped me and my family pick out bikes! We ended up buying 2 bikes because of his honesty! Thank you Jeremy and we love our bikes!❤️

Customer service is paltry. Selection is great. Pricing is fair. DO NOT BUY Meta Glasses or anything that might require post-sale support. (1) RE: Meta Glasses - Academy does not offer "protection plans" like LensCrafters or Sunglass Hut or RayBan direct. Meta glasses have WEAK frames and if you treat them like sunglasses, they will break. You NEED a protection plan. (2) I tried to return mine with a cracked frame near the hinge (a common problem) within 3 weeks and they told me to contact the RayBan. I'm weeks and emails and phone calls into this warranty saga with no real solutions. I go to Academy often due to their convenient locations and selection of products that I regularly need but be careful what you buy here; save the bigger purchases for some place that will actually give you post-sale support.

Worst managerial customer service ever. Went to buy a pair of shoes for my son. The price online was cheaper but not showing up when you scanned it. The worker in shoe department said it was because it was a "hot deal" but they'll price match it up front, just show the webpage. When I got up front , the managerial lady on duty at 12 pm said it was an online only deal and would not price match it. It didn't say that on the shoe's page and she said you had to go to the home screen. I said fine, can I purchase it right now, you verify the receipt and I take the product. I didn't have 2 hours to wait. She said no, she would not do this with a rude attitude. So you're going to tell me that you'll waste employee time to walk back the shoes, send someone else to get them, when I already retrieved the product for you? Complete waste of time, company resources (although there was 7 employees up front standing around talking) and horrific customer service. I've spent thousands over the years at Academy on clothes, shoes, sporting equipment for my family as a loyal customer. Time to switch to Dick's because every time I go there, the customer service is stellar.

I just moved to the neighborhood. I walked in and a male employee was sitting on a scooter at the front door looking at his phone didn't say hi and when I left he didn't say bye. Another male employee came to the section I was in and was talking on his phone and didn't stop his conversation to say hi. He had the phone on speaker and was so heavily deep into his conversation. There was nobody at the front. Maybe the were quiet or hiding or working on a project but I didn't see anyone and they didn't say hi. I wanted to buy some items but because nobody acknowledged me I decided to leave. I will never go back to this location. I will never spend any money here. I will out of the neighborhood. Nobody wanted to simply say hi. That is sad. I had to give a star to write this review. I wanted to give Zero stars for Zero customer service. The Academy by the Flea close to North Eldridge and the Academy on Westhimer and Hilcroft have better customer service. 100 % better. I know because I shop at Academy. There are specific items I buy from Academy. This location needs to do better or maybe management doesn't care. I don't know.

I was helped out by Wilson in the Hunting and firearms section. He was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and kept things moving smoothly while tending to myself and other customers. I appreciated both his assistance and his insight, I'd give him 5 stars for his service! Preston also helped ring me out, he was also friendly and kept the transaction moving smoothly during those idle moments in a larger ticket purchase, and he sent me off with a firm handshake, 5 star service. The only issue was one gentleman in the same department who went out of his way to negate a $10 discount from a competitor price match I had found and had verified, but on a very slight technicality about inventory he decided it was not valid (upon further checking after the fact by calling bass pro, he was actually wrong about the competitor's inventory), but I chose not to let $10 be the deciding factor, despite there now being a cheaper alternative at Bass Pro. A more frugal shopper might have walked away from the transaction altogether because of that. He interrupted the final part of the otherwise smooth transaction to ensure I wouldn't get the most minimal of discounts (that I felt quite good and savvy about fairly finding), it was frankly petty and made me feel like he valued being technically correct and robbing me of the good feeling over letting the customer have what was a truly negligible discount in the grand scheme of the transaction. I will not name him as a courtesy, but I will say for such a big fellow, he knows what he did was small and only served to sour the experience, 1 star service. But I won't let him tarnish the experience overall. As a note for management and that employee, you fought way too hard for what ultimately was the difference between a perfect experience, and a regular good one with a lingering negative aftertaste. $10 should not have been worth clawing back in a $600 transaction... Some food for thought big guy.
