- DKDee KnightMar 11, 20261.0I visited Lululemon yesterday around 1:45 PM. Most of the employees were friendly, but one interaction completely ruined the experience. I was looking for a jacket that wasn’t available in my size on the rack but there was one on a mannequin. One employee told me they couldn’t remove items from the mannequin. When I went to the register the associate helping me, Amanda was extremely kind and tried to help anyway. The internet was down so she couldn’t check online but she still looked around the store and even noticed the jacket on the mannequin. She asked who seemed to be a manager (dark hair, wearing very short gray biker shorts and a hoodie) if it could be taken off. She responded, “No, no questions asked,” while staring directly at me. Her tone and body language were rude and dismissive. Later, while I was paying she came up to me and asked me what I do to be part of the Sweat Collective in a very condescending way. It felt less like a normal question and more like she was questioning or challenging why I would qualify for it. It costs nothing to be kind to people and her nasty, disrespectful attitude was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Given Lululemon’s reputation when it comes to how people of color have been treated, you would think there would be more effort put into training staff to treat every customer with basic decency and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience and it made the store feel very unwelcoming. Amanda was lovely and a few other employees were also kind but that one individual’s behavior left a very negative impression.
