  I was exiting 635 for Preston and I just happen to go over and see half price books which I didn’t even know that these places still existed. I grew up right next to one in Mesquite and I used to love going in there every opportunity that my aunt will take you there and so of course I stopped by to check it out, of course and the day I was there that was actually an author doing a book signing, which was pretty awesome. This store seems to get tons of traffic, which is also really awesome. They have so much material in there for anything you could possibly want for every age I’m serious like anyone even if you don’t even like to read, she go inside here and just look around because by the end of it, you will like to read and for whatever reason if you can’t read well, you’re in luck too because there’s tons of CDs and movies and toys and games and just everything that you can imagine in there! Try to imagine Goodwill but like 1 million times cleaner and better and the staff is super polite. They’re not pretentious at all like some places are like this cough, cough vape shops.

  My favorite thing to do at HPB is go straight to the clearance and then work my way around from there. I have found a ton of “like new” hardbacks for $3-5 dollars doing this. HPB has something for everyone too - from books to movies to games (board and video) - they even have music and puzzles! And if you want brand new books at a discount? They’ve got that too.

  They create fake online listings, I am not sure if this is a price penetration practice or what. I have tried to buy multiple books from them online only to be refunded a few days later with a message informing me that "the listing was an error". It is very frustrating to purchase something only to be told "Oh, we don't actually have it.", which does not make sense.
