Cole Haan is turning nearly a century of iconic footwear inside out. The name—synonymous with timeless style and detailed craftsmanship since 1928—has become a beacon of big thinking, channeling their storied heritage into inventive engineering of the future. By integrating purposeful technology into both modern and classic designs, the global lifestyle brand has further dedicated itself to enabling their extraordinary customers to look the part and feel the part, while pushing the limits on what shoes (and beyond) can do.
The company calls New York City and Greenland, New Hampshire home, but you can find Cole Haan everywhere.
My fiancé and I went in today to look for his wedding shoes and already knew which ones we wanted. We were ready to purchase if the store had them in the right size.
As soon as walked in, we found the shoes immediately in the front. The ones on display were his size so he tried them on. Of course they had some scuffs so we went to go look for a sales associate to see if they had any others in the store.
I was able to find a gentleman who worked there and he informed me that those were the only ones left in the store in his size but he could help us order them online.
I went back to my fiancé to let him know as the sales associate followed me. As my fiancé tried on the shoes, the sales associate picked up the other display of the shoes, looked at the bottom of the shoe and then looked at me and said “you know which ones these are?- did you look at the price?”…of course we did…then he followed up with “but are you ready to pay that price?”.
Immediately I felt uncomfortable and appalled at the fact that he would ask us this. He then followed up to laugh and say…”well people don’t often look at the price before they buy and you wouldn’t think those shoes cost as much”.
Mind you, this is for our wedding. We don’t mind paying for the quality of nice shoes. We even had in mind to buy some magnanni’s or ferragamo’s. Which are way more expensive than Cole Haan’s.
Just that one interaction ruined our mood for the day and made it feel as if he looked at us like we couldn’t afford to pay for the shoes. Please coach your sales associates on how to speak to their customers and to not judge people.

Cole Haan in NorthPark deserves way more love than you can imagine. The people here are the sweetest, and this store is honestly one of the best I've ever seen. It really gives all the big brands a run for their money. They make classy, timeless shoes that you can wear anywhere at any time with such comfort. This brand needs to get the love and respect it deserves. Five out of five!
