- KBKelly BannerNov 25, 20252.0My experience at this Smart Start Interlock location was unfortunately very disappointing. The customer service at the front desk felt cold and dry from the start. I was quoted one price over the phone when scheduling, but when I arrived, I was told a completely different price—almost double—and was informed it had to be paid in cash. I was also told that my appointment was scheduled as a drop-off, not a wait-in appointment, because there was no waiting area. I was even told that the receptionist “doesn’t do well with small talk” and doesn’t want to accidentally throw something on her desk and hit someone. I live 30 minutes away, so waiting there would have made things much easier, but I was told the install could take anywhere from 1–5 hours (after being quoted 1–2 hours originally). I was told I’d receive a call within a 30-minute window for pickup. I arrived within that window, but the receptionist acted inconvenienced that I showed up slightly early—even though my car was already finished. The one positive part of this experience was the gentleman who installed the device and walked me through how to use it. He was patient, kind, and genuinely helpful. I appreciated him taking the time to make sure I understood everything. ( The 2 stars are for this gentleman.) Going through something like this is already difficult enough—you don’t need to be met with unnecessary rudeness or inconsistency on top of it. Better communication and more respectful customer service at the front desk would make a huge difference for people who are already dealing with a stressful situation.
