  I bought new server shoes Brazos..the next day the front of shoes started coming apart..I spent my hard earned money..now I have to spend more money to buy new shoes..the shoes are comfortable..but quality no good

  Academy is just the best. Knives AND guns? Check. God I love this country. Where else can you buy a Glock and a Kayak at the same place? Now that's how you fish.   Amazing and they always have one cashier with like 20 people in line. My favorite place to stand in line for at LEAST 30 minutes to check out. Great HVAC .

  I used to really like Academy and have been shopping at this specific store for years. My dad keeps getting me gift cards to Academy for holidays. Please do not get gift cards for your family members from Academy. Just give people cash, and if you just have to get a gift card then use Amazon or Walmart. I went in earlier this week to get some protein powder. The exact same protein powder was $30 cheaper on Amazon. I thought well, they price match Amazon (it's not third party, and it's in-stock). I can get it at Academy and use the gift card. WRONG. They claim they price match Amazon, but then at the register they tell me they can't price match anything that is on sale on Amazon. ??? Uh... that's basically everything, all the time. If there are any discounts to the regular price on Amazon, they won't match it. I look around this store, and the prices seem to be marked up like crazy. This made never want their gift cards again. I'd rather be able to buy from the place with the better prices. I go back a few days later to use these darn gift cards and bought some shoes. They didn't have my size in the women's shoes, so I bought the men's version. Later I get home and google and find out men's shoes are wider than women's so those aren't going to work for me. Fine, I'll take them back and order my size in women's online. I go and exchange them the next day. I literally tell the worker I plan to buy the women's shoes online instead because they don't have my size in-store, and I have and show my receipt from when I bought them with a gift card the day before. They had a lot of problems with the computer and a line of like 20 people backed up behind me. Eventually they got it to work, and they gave me a merchandise credit for my return. Well... I go home and try order my shoes online, guess what, a merchandise is for in-store only and can't be used for an online purchase. So, for what I paid for with a gift card, and had a receipt for, they gave me this janky card that appears to be what they give to people who they think may be stealing from them to limit them. They absolutely could have given me a gift card exactly like what I had paid with. I haven't had major problems with this store up until this week, but they have literally made me hate them to the point that I don't think I even want to shop at Academy any more after this. There is literally nothing about this store anymore that makes me want to come back here (other fix this stupid card they gave me and get the money transferred back to a GIFT CARD, so I order the stupid shoes online, and then tell my dad please never get me a gift card there again and be done with them). I had way too many issues here this week. Gas is almost $4 a gallon, and I'm tired of going back and forth up there. Next time I'm just going to sit at home and get whatever I want for a lot cheaper while Amazon delivers it to my door from my future Amazon gift cards that will be replacing this ridiculous place.
