- MRMario RodriguezJan 16, 20261.0On December 18, 2025, during a recorded phone call, I was explicitly guaranteed a month-to-month service plan for $105, as well as two months of Smart Start services at no charge. This offer was clearly stated and confirmed by the representative. Despite this agreement, on January 6, 2025, the service technician presented terms that were entirely different from what was promised. The plan was not month-to-month and included additional fees that were neither disclosed nor waived during the recorded call. I immediately contacted customer service to address this discrepancy. After multiple consultations with supervisors, I was initially offered half off one month, which I declined, as it did not reflect the original agreement. Following further escalation, I was then offered one free month, which again did not align with what had been guaranteed. I later spoke with Supervisor Ramie, who stated that she reviewed the recorded call but advised that she could only authorize one free month instead of the two that were honored. This situation represents a serious breakdown in transparency and customer trust. I am requesting that Smart Start honor the original recorded agreement in full and provide two months of service at no charge, as promised. They never gave me my two months for free. Do not get this servicer as they don’t work with you and do not comply with there word. Be aware they also tack on extra charges in your account and customer service is useless

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
