I usually love AE. They’re one of the few retailers that carry jeans long enough for me. I recently ordered some online and since they were delivered through door dash, my door dasher stole them. I live in a gated community so there’s no way any one else could have gotten to them. When I requested a refund they sent it in the form of an E-gift card which was not clarified, and sent it to an email which I had already corrected. Upon calling to reorder the jeans, they were unable to use the credit as it was in an email that I don’t have access to. I had to spend hours on the phone with them while I have no voice because I’m sick, in order to reorder the jeans. I requested that they correct the email multiple times before I called and stated clearly that the email I had used to order was incorrect. I now have to wait for them to send a ticket to corporate and then for corporate to respond and then call back to reorder the jeans.

Came into the American Eagle at The Domain today specifically looking for gloves. Asked an employee for help and was told they didn’t carry any, just socks and beanies. Fine, no big deal, seasons change and inventory varies.
As I was heading out, the original employee politely checked over the headset to double-confirm. The blonde girl working the front door/greeter position immediately responded over the microphone, “We don’t have gloves… what is this, an Old Navy?” followed by sarcastic laughter.
Yes, we were actually headed to Old Navy next, but we figured we’d check AE first since we were already in the store. Apparently asking about basic cold-weather accessories is hilarious and is mocked here.
Attitudes like that are exactly why some people never leave retail.

Horrible customer service. Got ignored at checkout and ended up leaving. Just a waste of time.

The store had a clearance of 60%. On top of that it said an additional 60% on top of the clearance price. The sales person “Gaby” said that his interpretation was different. I explained what additional meant. But even though the store was full of signs inside and out with the additional 60%on top of the clearance price, they did not honor it. I have pictures & videos of these signs. I have the receipt and would like it honored and have someone from your team contact me. This is false propaganda and very misleading. I ended up paying for the items in which they subtracted the 60% without the ADDITIONAL 60% when it clearly says it on the signs. False advertisement!!!
