I usually love Mardel and have always had great experiences, but my visit on April 18, 2026 at the Arlington, TX location was very disappointing because of one employee that SENT ME. The cashier, Glynda, was so rude from the moment I walked up, no greeting, no eye contact, just rushing, sarcasm, and impatience. She questioned why my payment was “taking so long,” then canceled my transaction within minutes while my husband was sending the funds. What made it worse was how she treated the customer behind me, who was not Black. As a Black woman, the difference in treatment was obvious and concerning. When I was en route to transport my items that SHE had bagged, to wait for the manager to come, she stopped me, placed her hand on the counter near them and implied I was trying to steal or “take” the items, her words. Completely unacceptable. Thankfully, Stephen the manager handled everything with professionalism and kindness. Mardel is a great store, but this employee needs serious training in emotional intelligence, diversity, and customer respect.

Absolutely love the fact that we have found this gem! There seems to be few and far between so when you find one you pop on in. Also, do me a favor: IF you ever need help here, just ask for Ashlyn she is awesome and very respectful. Keep up the good work! We'll definitely be back.

They have a well-mannered staff. Everyone is very nice. They do quality work.
What do not like about the company (not talking about this location) is that I have spent $370+ getting names and baptism dates put on Bibles and other gift items and it costs $10 each line because I did not buy the Bibles and bags and other leather items there. Otherwise would be $5. For one thing, they don’t carry the my preferred Bible translation and size and also their Bibles are so highly priced even for the other translations I read that it hurts my heart. As a practicing follower of Jesus, I think about the people who want to read God’s Word who are not able to own their own Bible because they can’t pay the high prices. Hope they learned about Christ by finding a more affordable place to get a Bible or get one as a gift.
I realize this is a business for profit (you can’t tell me it’s not), just like most of Christian churches have (not openly) turned into now, but just feels disingenuous as a Christian company to charge more for the same service to add names and baptism dates to Bibles and bags because they were not purchase at Mardel.
If I could find another place to get the service, I would.
