The Hobby Lobby we visited was in Tullahoma TN. We had specifics in mind. I needed a few sewing sundries and Gracy needed some clay. Both of us required assistance with our purchases before we made our selections. The only other Hobby Lobby we've experienced is in Murfreesboro. I'm beginning to think it's stores are a direct reflection of it's citizens. Both at Hobby Lobby and at the home improvement stores (the two major chains) the employees run and hide. Folks are left searching through a disheveled store for out of placed product and I am beginning to think that it's because of customer attitude. We moved to Coffee County two years ago and settled into a different attitude; A friendlier attitude and it is reflected in the customer service in stores we are used to having to lasso and hog-tie a sales clerks just to get an, "I don't know, did you check over there 👈"? The clerk in the sewing department, a young lady with long dark hair, was cutting material for an order and I had a question about a package of needles which could have easily been dismissed with an IDK, but she actually dropped what she was doing and got online and looked up an answer for me. Turns out it was the needles I needed. I was so impressed I bought 3 packs of them instead of one. Then I looked at thread and they had it marked kinda funny. What I wanted was $6.49 a spool, but I needed several colors. That was gonna get pricey. I figured I'd get tha white and the black, but at the top of the rack it said $1.99 a spool. I walked over and asked her about it. She kinda chuckled and followed me, well led me back over to the thread rack and explained the system to me. Turns out it wasn't just me. They have a confusing system, but it all rings up $1.99. I got all the colors I needed. She was a charmer, and didn't have to explain it like that. All she needed to do was say, "It's a Buck .99" When we went over to the crafting section where the clay was we were treated with the very same dignity and respect by a young man who lead us to the clay isle instead of just showing us a finger and then a lady stood there reading packages with us until we got just what we wanted. I don't know if it's because people have more tolerance for one another here in this smaller County or if it's something else, but whatever it is I hope it rubs off on the rest of Tennessee in epic proportions.
