A shopping mall that looks and feels like one. This visit was a good reminder of what shopping malls used to be back in the day. Plenty of parking, stores to visit and explore, food options and enough room to walk despite the crowds. There is so much else to do in the area and not just explore the mall depending on the season of your visit. Go for the LEGO store, The Aquarium Restaurant experience (the tanks mainly), the Madame Tussauds, Rainforest Cafe and of course the other retails fronts but at least for these three if you have a kid in your group. A showboat sometimes docks by the river in the neighborhood in case you venture out looking for it.

Huge mall a great variety of store. Several very unique store with amazing product. The only bad thing is that it is a giant loop that you are trapped in. There in only one way to get from one side to the other. I get wanting to push your customers to go past every store, but it prohibits open exploration and casual wandering. You have to keep going or backtrack from where you came from. Poor planning for new customers who are visiting for the first time.

This Mall offers a lot of shopping experience from food courts to restaurants such as the Aquarium, PF Chang, Cheesecake Factory and Rainforest Cafe; to entertainments such as Big Game Show, Dave and Busters, Regal Theater, Escape Games, Wax Museum. Although this mall is increasing its similar shoes and perfumes stores, they also have some worthy of mentions such as Toys R US, Lego, Game Stop, Train Store, Hot topic, Box Lunch, and other anime like stores. Negatives: This Mall does add security over the weekend Friday thru Sunday where under age must be accompanied by an adult causing a wait to enter. They also changed a lot of free parking spaces into self-paid spaces. Their restrooms are not the greatest as you will find many doors that don't lock well and open while in use, faucets that doesn't work, trouble finding filled soap dispensers. (This has been on going for years, so updates and fixes is not expected in near future)

Opry Mills is pretty mid. The Rainforest Cafe almost rescues it, but realistically it’s a 3.5-star experience. Nothing really stands out, and the overall vibe feels like quiet-quitting customer service mixed with “too cool to care” energy. It seems driven by tourist money more than local quality, so a lot of stores feel unfocused and poorly curated. Not awful, just… meh.

Rising from the corpse of an unique amusement park and tourist attraction that was only shut down because it wasn't making as much money as the owners could get from selling the place, is a mall like any other mall. It exists as one of the few surviving malls in Nashville, and when it finally fails enough we can only hope they build Opryland 2 on the roof, because that would be fitting. Shopryland is interesting. It should be noted I don't hate malls, I just hate that something uniquely Nashville was sold for short term profits and what rose from it is unoriginal, uninspiring, and generic. The mall suffers greatly at Christmastime because the two directions to enter from tend to back up leading to extreme gridlock. Throw in the Grand Ole Opry and Ice and whatever's going on at the hotel and you've got a situation that really needs fixed as idiots are doing 100mph on briley and traffic is stopped. The mall also suffers from a fear of kids at odd hours. This is probably from looking at how Rivergate Mall died, and how some idiot kids decided to get into fights in this mall. Well, now they're carding and the result have been weird. There are hours in which you can be young and unaccompanied at this mall, or there were the last time I was there. Had a situation recently where I had to escort my 11 year old through the mall (we were at a restaurant) to the movie theater to meet some friends. There exist a couple of "Nashville" shops which sell what tourists think Nashville is (that being those 3 blocks downtown that take up 4% of the city's police presence and 6% of the budget). Being Tennessee, even with the TCA posted warnings you'll catch a whole lot of people armed in here. They're not allowed, but they're there. The children's area currently is torn up (end of 2025) and being rebuilt. It was the one unique thing about this mall that was there and was my kid's favorite rhinovirus pit. It appears they're replacing the characters with shapes, we'll see, but it looks like more soulless conformity. If you join the WiFi you'll be getting emails until you unsubscribe, so be aware of that. I had hopes after they destroyed a great amusement park that there would be at least something here to remind people. Maybe an Opryland store, maybe a ride from the original. But nope, they put in someone else's merry-go-round and worked hard to erase the memories of Do Wah Ditty City and the Rock'n'rollercoaster. I was there yesterday - it was the time of the year I like least there, Ice is going on, Christmas is going on, and the place is crowded with people who feel the need to get out and shop while suffering from some bug. It's just so plain, so generic. So much unrealized potential to be a part of Nashville that isn't hokey.
