- BSBrooke SmithMay 16, 20244.0Did not have a good experience with my installation from another employee, got home and my car turned on, but the interlock didn’t have power. I have a newer car and I’ve never had issues with it so I know it was a problem with the installation. Brett saved the day, we did have to pay to tow the car back to the Franklin interlock shop the next day, but Brett gave us a time that he would be there to fix it and he was right on time. He fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. Brett is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars. Clearly the shop is low on staffing and Spring Hill PD is handing out way more DUIs than the two shops near town can handle. It’s not the shops fault. Take the problem up with the city and tell them that they need to get more interlock shops in town if they’re gonna hand out DUI’s like candy.

Trying to have your device monthly calibrated at this location is a nightmare. In the last several months I have never gotten completed in less than an hour of my appointment closer actually to two. Today the service center people didn’t even show up until 45 minutes after my appointment time.

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
