The vision of our 501(c3) nonprofit organization is that ALL people have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through the power of work.Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee is based in Nashville, Tenn. The agency serves 48 counties throughout Middle and West Tennessee, operating 30 retail stores and two outlet stores, about 53 Donation Express Centers and 13 Career Solutions Centers. The nonprofit is one of Tennessee’s largest employers of people with disabilities with more than 45 percent of our workforce reporting some type of disability or disadvantage. Although affiliated with Goodwill Industries International in Rockville, Md., we operate independently through our own governing board of directors. Goodwill accepts gently-used items that donors no longer want, need or use. Those items are sold either in our retail stores or online at onlinegoodwill.com. Revenue from the sale of donated goods helps fund job training services and programs provided by Goodwill Career Solutions. In addition to retail sales, Goodwill depends on several other revenue sources, including state and local grants.
Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the high prices of items, feeling they were overpriced for second-hand goods.

I rolled a round folding table to the front and asked if I could set it by the front window and keep shopping. No answer, just a look. So i said or I can pay for it and take it to my truck. Still no answer from either cashier so i said Ok then I'm just going to leave it here and I'll be up here shortly. So i shopped another 15 minutes and when i made it to the front I asked what i assume was a manager cuz she was dressed differently, where the table went that i set up here. She said "we rolled it back. We're not allowed to hold anything for anyone" (while 2 stools were sitting there being held for someone). I told her i made them aware i was leaving it and no one disclosed to me that i couldn't. 'Well it's against our policy". Then she walked into a room and closed the door. So i paid for what i had, took it to my truck and came back in to get the table which was of course not in the store anymore. For Goodwill to have items donated and then price some of it at absurd prices is already sheisty but it wasn't like i left the store and asked them to hold it. I found something I wanted that was big I brought it to the front so that I could pay for it when I was done shopping and no one else would buy it and yet it was gone and blamed on company policy. Both cashier's acted dumb about it and the manager wasn't exactly a ball of sunshine. I realize you're upset because you work at Goodwill but really? Where's the Goodwill I'm supposed to feel. Disappointed that people just don't care about service anymore. This was the location in Franklin TN

We found many things but among those I found a cloth shower curtain and it was marked 2.99 paid went to the car my husband asks why so expensive so I take it back in she said it was 5.99 and refused a refund. She was not very respectful and didn’t have a care that they priced it wrong and it was their mistake. Very upset customer here. The prices that yall price for free items is absurd these days. ABSURD! I’m not the only one thinking this

One of the cleanest goodwill stores I have been to. I didn’t find anything but was impressed with what I saw.
