The vision of our 501(c3) nonprofit organization is that ALL people have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through the power of work.Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee is based in Nashville, Tenn. The agency serves 48 counties throughout Middle and West Tennessee, operating 30 retail stores and two outlet stores, about 53 Donation Express Centers and 13 Career Solutions Centers. The nonprofit is one of Tennessee’s largest employers of people with disabilities with more than 45 percent of our workforce reporting some type of disability or disadvantage. Although affiliated with Goodwill Industries International in Rockville, Md., we operate independently through our own governing board of directors. Goodwill accepts gently-used items that donors no longer want, need or use. Those items are sold either in our retail stores or online at onlinegoodwill.com. Revenue from the sale of donated goods helps fund job training services and programs provided by Goodwill Career Solutions. In addition to retail sales, Goodwill depends on several other revenue sources, including state and local grants.

- ADAvery DawnDec 6, 20251.0Waited in line for over 20 minutes on 12/6 to be told by the rude older black manager that I couldn't purchase an item because a customer in the store tore off the QR code portion of the tag and therefore claimed the item. Same situation happened to the customer in front of me and the manager made us put both items back on the floor. Items should be pulled from the floor immediately or a tag should be placed saying it’s sold if a customer claims it. The items were small enough to put in a shopping cart and I had the item at the register first. Very frustrating experience and the manager made it worse with her bad attitude. My cashier even said she disagreed with how the manager was handling things. Disappointing shopping experience witnessed by a long line of customers.

You could tell she loves what she does and takes care of the customers. Another employee was telling her to hurry up, which I thought was rude because she was just so pleasant.
