Sunday, Jan 18, 2026, two friends and I were shopping at the Columbia tabger outlet store in Myrtle Beach (by 7Brew and Outback). My friends went on the womenswear side to look at boots and the female sales associate was discriminatory and prejudice by watching them and not wanting to assist with letting them know where the boots were in the store. I was on the other side trying to decide on a jacket and/or half zip when they told me what happened. I started not to buy anything but the hats also caught my interest along with the stickers at the register. So I went to the register trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but the associate at the counter made it very obvious he wasn’t interested anything we had to say and was constantly looking towards the back while I was trying to check out. Once, I noticed by his responses that he didn’t really care to provide a service to us either. I just acted like I couldn’t afford it and left since that’s what they were expecting any way. But I had great service at Coach. I hope it’s not always like that. Yes, we’re black but everyone black doesn’t steal and have ill intentions. If they had my size in the items/colors I wanted I would have bought a few jackets and hats and probably never would have went to Coach but that just left a bad taste in my mouth for the Columbia brand as a whole. I like the Columbia brand but apparently the Columbia brand doesn’t like us.
