- HFH. FurmanNov 16, 20255.0My mom and I stopped at Belk to return a sweater. We entered through the back door in the cosmetic section, and Brooke immediately offered to help us. That led to a wonderful experience, where we spent the afternoon together (she lives out of town), getting our makeup done in preparation for doing our own for my brother’s upcoming wedding, and we ended up spending over $300 on Clinique makeup. Brooke was very knowledgeable about both youthful and mature skin. We learned that formal doesn’t necessarily mean full coverage or heavy makeup. She was friendly, enjoyable, and made our afternoon an unexpected, memorable experience. If you're looking for a makeup refresh (regardless of age), I highly recommend visiting Brooke!

- SFSusan FitzgeraldSep 26, 20252.0Belk needs help. I’m a long time Belk shopper and have always been loyal but things have gone too far. First, you walk into the store and there is pop music blaring at a makeup counter. It’s tacky and contrived and this particular makeup counter is like a loud bully. Shoppers have to endure this noise pollution. Second, there are way too many sales racks and clearance racks. Honestly, these racks are not organised and they look like yesterday’s pizza. I want an upscale retail experience when I go to Belk. All these racks are overwhelming and tedious to sift through and for nothing. Once again I found nothing. Organise, set up clothing displays in a way that people can find things that make a coordinating ensemble. Third, you have enough brands for the 15 to 20 somethings. 75% of the brands cater to this age group. Can we get some timeless classic elegant clothing back? Lastly, on the opposite end of the spectrum, the dress department is for 60 and over. The dresses look like they are from the 80’s and 90’s, for real. All dated looking. Look, I will keep trying to shop there and I’m hopeful that this particular Belk will get their act together. Hire people! Put the bully in their place with their music, hire a clothing buyer with taste. Bring customer service back! Up front investment will help sales in the long run.

Mary was so knowledgeable and showed me how to use each product and explained why everything was so good for my skin. Go see her!!! She’s the best!!!!
