I tried to leave this review with no star rating attached, but it will not let me, so the 1 star is overly generous.
It is specifically about the Tracker Marine part of the store, and not necessarily about the store in general.
I recently bought a 2 year old tracker boat, motor and trailer from the original owner. I discovered that I could get the remainder of the warranty transferred to me. Additionally, I had questions about this particular model, such as what the warranty covered, fuel capacity, operating the different controls and systems, etc... This is where the troublesome journey began.
I started by calling what I thought was the national service number. It turns out I mistakenly had called the national sales number. They did return my call the next business day, and offered very little help, expect to tell me to go to local store.
I traveled to the store to make the appointment, where I was finally directed to what I thought was the store manager, although I never received a name. He informed me he had never done a warranty transfer before. I was able to finally speak to a person in the service department, who again gave me no name. I got the appointment set and left.
I arrived about 20 minutes late due to traffic, and walked in and announced my appointment. 1st question to me was who is your appointment with? I said I did not know, and was subsequently passed to a 2nd and finally 3rd person. I did get irate at this point, having been kicked down the road like an old football, and still had gotten NONE of my questions answered. I left as they were moving the boat into the shop, and went to get some lunch.
I returned a little over an hour later, and saw my boat in the back parking lot of the store. There was a man I had not seen before walking towards me. I commented that they had gotten through with my boat. The gentlemen replied, no we are through with you. He then introduced himself as the manager and proceeded to bully and intimidate me, so much so that I had to tell him to back up. I will be 70 years old next year, and Mr. Large is at least 20-25 years my junior. I felt I had no choice rather than pull my boat home.
Moral of story is, this store can get you a quote on a $733.00 seat for the boat in 1 day, but try to get a warranty transfer, or questions answered about it, and they send Mr. Large out back where there are no witnesses, to intimidate and bully an elderly man. Great business model you have Bass Pro!
I don't have the warranty transfer, the deadline to do so has expired, so I have resigned myself to do without. I still do not have any answers about this specific model either, but my grandchildren and I are slowly figuring it out.
