Not only were they both reluctant to help me, one of them commented negatively on what appeared to be a new hire (who was standing right there). I then went to a different department, where an employee of 40 years had helped me. She was kind & patient & went above & beyond. She encouraged me to take the survey on my receipt but I misplaced it. I called the store manager, but she wasn’t available, so I left her a voicemail. I never heard back but I will call her again. I would hate to think the fish is rotting from the head down at the Warwick, RI JC Penney. It’s been a few days & I have not heard from the store manager, so I called her again. I was told she wasn’t in. I asked for her voicemail & was told she doesn’t have voicemail. I told the woman that she does because I left her a message a few days ago. I was put through to a woman who wasn’t the store manager, so I asked again for the voicemail of the store manager. I was put through to a person’s voicemail, it wasn’t the store manager. I left a message asking for the store manager to call me. This entire experience is utterly exasperating. I’m not surprised they have so many one star reviews! Well, I called the 800 number that JCP had given to me below to resolve my issue & when I called, the person I spoke to said he couldn’t help me. He suggested I call the store manager/lead. I told him I did, but to no avail. He then suggested I call the regional manager, so I asked for the phone number & he said he didn’t have it. I asked him what I should do & he gave me the same number I just called to get to him (customer service). I then called the Warwick, RI store again numerous times. It rang a few times & then just disconnected. I am a retired Quality /ISO Manager & Quality Engineer and I can tell you as someone with over 40 years of experience in the field, that this is no way to effectively run any type of company. JC Penny is an embarrassment to the field of retail!!!
