During my recent visit to The 1916 Company in Philadelphia, I originally intended to simply explore a few items, but I had the privilege of working with Lindsay. While this wasn’t my first purchase from The 1916 Company, it was my first from this location, and although every experience has been great, working with Lindsay was genuinely on another level.
From the moment we started talking, Lindsay was thoughtful, patient, and exceptionally professional. There was no pressure, no pretension, just a real conversation between two people who respect the craft and the story behind each watch. What impressed me most was her depth of knowledge, Rolex history, model distinctions, technical features, nuances between references, she covered it all with clarity and genuine enthusiasm. She treated me like a collector, not a transaction, and that meant more than I expected it to.
After taking the time to truly decide what I wanted, I acquired the Deepsea 44mm Black Dial. For anyone who knows this piece, you already understand, it’s not subtle. It’s presence, depth, and purpose on the wrist. But what I really want to emphasize is this; the watch is incredible, but it was the experience with Lindsay that stayed with me.
Lindsay didn’t sell me a watch, she guided me through the journey of acquiring a remarkable timepiece. There was respect, care, and attention in every part of the process. It was the kind of experience that reminds you why we buy from people, not just from a brand or a store. So for anyone considering a visit, or wondering if there are still places where the love of the watch matches the love of the sale, I can say without hesitation that Lindsay Gramlich represents exactly that.
As Lindsay and I discussed, this Deepsea will join me on travels around the world and on climbs up mountains across the globe. But the story of how it came to me began with someone who treated me like a person, not a purchase.
Thank you Lindsay Gramlich!
