  I visited the American Eagle store at the King of Prussia Mall this evening to return a sweatshirt and shop for a new pair of jeans. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I walked in. No one greeted me upon entry, and despite spending time browsing several styles of jeans, no associate approached to offer help. While shopping, I had to seek out an employee myself to ask for help choosing between two shades of brown jeans, as I was feeling indecisive. I also asked for directions on how to use the “Best Fit” buttons, but she wasn’t able to explain them because she didn’t know how they worked either. After selecting a few pairs to try on, I waited outside the fitting rooms for about 10 minutes while two employees chatted at the register and folded clothes. I eventually asked if I should just go in, and they told me yes. When I realized the jeans didn’t fit, I pressed the call button for assistance with different sizes, but no one ever came. At this point, it was getting close to closing, so I got dressed and searched for the sizes myself. I also noticed other shoppers in the fitting area with no assistance in sight. At checkout, I explained that I had an online return and asked to apply my military discount to three online items I had recently ordered, as well as the in-store purchases. The two employees were unsure if this could be done without the physical items. I let them know this had been done for me before without issue. After checking with the manager, who also seemed unsure at first, they finally confirmed it could be done. However, both the manager and the cashier seemed visibly annoyed while manually entering the information, and there was no acknowledgment or thank you after I expressed my appreciation. As someone who has worked in retail for years, I understand the demands, but I also know that positive customer service should always be a top priority. Sadly, this location has gone downhill over the past year, which is why I now mostly shop online. It’s disappointing to read so many similar reviews about poor service and see that little has changed. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to meaningful improvement.

  Extremely unprofessional staff. Hire people who correctly represent your store.. Not 18 year old's who complain how much they hate their job in front of customers..
