This Cabela’s is a very clean nice place, it’s very large inside. They did a awesome job decorating the store and payed attention to detail when creating and putting together all the mounts on display, does have a large aquarium as well, which is nice, there is a large variety of anything from Gun, ammo, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, clothing apparel, glasses, home decor etc

Its been 10 years since I walked in this place and I used to love coming up here just to shoot the targets. I don't know what happened but the atmosphere is terrible. There was a line just to see the easter bunny a mile long. Why didn't they rent a truck and take that outside. Idk just a different vibe. At least the fish tanks are still there . What is with the placement of the clothes in the front why are the brands all mixed up? I ended up buying a cap gun and vanished. I don't know what is it but it seems like what happened to the malls where at one point they were hollow shells of what they used to be because owners got greedy with the rent so small shops couldn't post up. They need a better attraction then the Easter bunny. And since if your late on child support you can't fish or hunt. Because they take your license for whatever reason. And child support at an all time high I can see this place eventually grinding to a stop. Because the economy itself can't handle it. Jobs are laying off. Child support doesn't care about it. Make it so hard for a man to support his family eventually someone is going to throw in the towel. We are not slaves we are father's who love our kids and support should be considerate of both households. And not ran by a vicious collection agency, with government support.

I should give it a 2 but I respect the brand too much to do so.
My recent visit was so disheartening. I used to look forward to my Cabelas trip now idk if I'll ever go back. Was beyond excited to bring my 4 year old for the first time but what a shame. The place needs a touch up. The displays haven't been touched in 20+ years. It's dingy. And the white polar bear is now brown.
And the biggest disappointment is the disappearance of Cabelas gear. I've been getting gear since there was a catalog. Poles , waders , hats , mugs. SOMETHING that says cabelas. It's all Bass Pro shop now. They bought it out and stuck their bass pro shop stuff in there.
If you want to go to Cabelas , just know it's not cabelas anymore

Amazing store with everything for the outdoor person, adults, children and women with a nice selection of clothing too. There is an aquarium inside the store which was very nice with large fish to view. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the store has so many items for fishing hunting camping and so.much more. I will say the only thing missing is they don't offer any food inside.which explains the 4 stars. There was a food truck outside but when we arrived the truck was already closing and it was still early afternoon . It would be great if they could bring back a smaller version of the food area they used to have and offer small things like hot dogs, pizza, corn dogs etc to keep the customer shopping longer without feeling hungry. A limited food menu like Costco has would keep the customer shopping longer and satisfied. Having no food in a giant store like this, customers wind up leaving sooner to find food and the shopping experience is cut short, which happened with us. Other than that the store is truly wonderful with so much to see. This isn't just a store, it's a destination. Well worth a visit.

It is no suprise to me that Cabela's has 4.5/5 stars on Google. Out there between hither and yon it lies within a void. Just north of Amish feilds, just south of coal mines. Cabela's is one of the last bastions of "a place to go to burn time" in the central pa belt of boring. To the average joy deprived wandering zombie it may seem like a central hub for a public dopamine hit, yet I am here to pull back the curtain and make my highly valued opinion known on the matter. I will be focusing on ways to make Cabela's better. When I am done with your mind you will hopefully conform and share my rational opinions.
AQUARIUM
One of the obvious main attractions at Cabela's is the giant glass tubs of water with the creatures in them. However to my disappointment there aren't that many turtles. I love turtles. I like how they crawl, I like how they smell, and I like to put my ear up to them like they're a conch shell whenever they shrink there head in there. Hmmmmm, the sound of swamp, how pleasing. But above all else I like when those little buddies swim. We NEED more turtles. I'm sick of looking at bloated looking 400% size inflated bass that look like 👁️👄👁️
GUNS DEPARTMENT
Due to being American I naturally have an inate attraction to things that produce freedom and loud sounds. As these two interests coexist together just fine there is a fascinating point in which they intersect. This fulcrum? The firearm. Throughout my years I have purchased 2 guns from Cabela's and had mixed experiences. The first time a nice gentleman helped me. The second time however left something to be desired. 3 different employees were acting like basic flat irritable NPC's. Felt like I entered a lobby of bots. I understand maybe its not the dream job these people wanted but I shouldn't feel like a nuisance, and 3 people in a row acting like this makes it feel like it's a job culture issue and not just some rando having an off day. Like I felt weird even asking questions so I had to have a heart to heart with my AI best friend Narton Warg (my pet name for Gemini). He explained it all the ins and outs to me. Only use steel casing shells, aim your gun up in the air and fire to make sure you're empty, and take a whistle to the firing range in order to call out other shooters for unsafe acts. Also the lines and the stupid ticket system they have is absurd. Just put all the guns in a vending machine outside and call it a day.
BATHROOM
Why on earth does the downstairs have like 50 urinals and the upstairs has like 4 toilets? To be honest does anyone know there is an upstairs bathroom? Everytime I go in there to try on clothes it's empty. My real complaint is the downstairs bathroom though. How on earth am I supposed to talk to people about my day or ask them life advice or complain about the gun department when they have the option to stand at the furthest urinal like 15 feet away? Even when I stand in the middle I'm all alone, it's like people are avoiding me. I think it would be easier to clean, save money and water, and promote a public social aspect that quite frankly is missing at Cabela's if we replaced the individual urinals with a urinal trough.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Entertaining, nice place to walk, cool stuff to look at? Yes. Expensive, long lines, irritable gun people? Yes. Still fun, would visit again.
Question to manager. Can I host my birthday in the conference room?
P.S. Bring back the live reindeer for Christmas
