    I was shopping on the second floor of the store in the Millcreek mall jc penny store and not a single employee was on that floor. I tried to find someone for over 30 minutes. There is no excuse for an entire floor of a department store to have no one to help customers.

    About a year ago I purchased a ring for my wife and was talked into buying a warranty that specifically covered gemstones falling out. Unfortunately, a gemstone eventually did fall out, so I returned to the store to use the warranty I paid for. At that point I was told they would not repair the ring because the repair cost would exceed the value of the ring. They offered a buyout instead, which I understood. However, when I asked for the refund of the warranty that I paid for, I was told absolutely not. I then asked to speak with the store manager, Dave. Instead of helping resolve the situation, he was extremely rude and told me he didn’t care and that I would not be getting my warranty money back. When I asked for his full name, he refused to provide it. When I attempted to take a photo of him so I could report the situation to corporate, he reached out, grabbed my phone, and physically pushed me back. That is completely unacceptable behavior from anyone, especially a store manager. I understand disagreements happen, but putting hands on a customer and handling a situation that way is completely unprofessional. I expected much better customer service and professionalism from a company like JCPenney. I hope corporate looks into how this situation was handled and works to prevent something like this from happening to another customer.

    I was shopping at JCPenney on Saturday and had a few kids with me, so things were a little hectic. I only had one item I needed to purchase, but since I haven’t been to the mall in a while, I couldn’t find an open checkout near the front of the store. I walked over to the beauty/makeup counter hoping to quickly grab something small so I could check out there. When I didn’t find anything else I wanted, I asked if I could check out my one item at the counter. There were two employees behind the counter, and both seemed very exasperated that I asked them to ring me up. My understanding is that checkout is part of the service provided at that counter, so the reaction was surprising and honestly made me feel like I was inconveniencing them simply by asking. As a customer, especially while managing a few kids, I was just trying to make a quick purchase and leave. A more welcoming attitude would have made the experience much better.

    Went to look at beds and didn’t even sit fully down on a bed and got asked to leave the store. Would highly not recommend for buying beds/furniture at this store

    Terrible experience! I bought two pairs of jeans, I was sent the wrong size for both. I called Customer Service and was promised I would be sent the correct items and was charged again. The second delivery had one correct size the other one was incorrect. I called Customer Service again, they promised I would get the correct size jeans, guarantee and was charged for a third time. The third delivery had one correct size, one incorrect size. I have been charged $210 for six pairs of jeans with only two pairs being the correct size. I will now have to go to the closest store to get a refund for four pairs of incorrect items.
