More paperwork at the gun counter here than any other shop I've been to. No one communicated with me about my online pistol order being ready or not either I had to just show up after I was out of work and hoped it was. It of course wasn't and returned the next day, with still no call about it being ready or not and it happened to be in the afternoon. Not cool. No returns or exchanges allowed either. Shop local instead. Pewnitions Factory on Portland RD will treat you right, but if that's out of your range. Tick Licker is also good one I hear as well around the south side of town.

My dad ordered an old timer electric fillet knife online from the Salem location because they were out of stock at the Albany location. When he picked up the order they gave him the wrong one, the one with the cord and not the battery cordless. The two different models come in the same looking box. So after going back with all the recipes and explaining what happened, the employee couldn’t comprehend at all the issue we were trying to solve. We simply wanted to exchange the knife for the correct one. The employee quickly took my dad’s card and gave him the return for the cheaper half priced corded model. When I told her what she did , she was very rude and told my dad who’s in his 70s to figure it out are selves. We ended up finding the original k life we wanted and just paid for it again since it was on sell. When we got home the new knife doesn’t work. We were initially going there to exchange the knife and spend about 3k on new electronics for are new boat. Maybe that’s why there store was so empty. My dad and I will never spend another cent at sportsman’s and hopefully neither will you. Thanks for reading

First I want to say I am 100% against everything shifting to online sales because there is no personal interaction and we need brick and mortar stores. But with lack of customer service it doesn't help keep the physical stores open and people shopping in them. I live 20 mins away from the store and gas along with time isn't cheap so a quick phone call is the fastest and easiest way to find info but I called and got transferred only to stay on hold for 10 mins and then the system hung up on me then called back twice and both times it rang for 3 mins before the system then hung up again so I got absolutely no help whatsoever. Terrible customer service in my opinion and because of that I am now irritated and will shop elsewhere. Not a great way to operate and keep people in stores to keep jobs. People are only helping to justify more automation and their own replacement.

My go-to for guns and ammo. May not be the cheapest but the service is fantastic.
