In June 2009, after 120 years in business, Carhartt took its first venture into company owned retail stores by opening the Cascade Station store in Portland, Oregon. Located off the freeway near the PDX airport and only steps away from Portland’s light rail MAX station, the Cascade Station store offers easy access to shoppers from many walks of life. We pride ourselves in offering rugged Carhartt gear made for the hardworking men and women of the Portland area with friendly and knowledgeable customer service. Every day we serve our guests needing work clothes for all sorts of jobs ranging from construction to brewing, fishing, pipefitting, utilities, the medical field, and more!
Besides our working men and women, the Cascade Station Carhartt store assists customers of many other pursuits. Being so close to the Columbia River with views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens, Carhartt offers much to the outdoorsman in need of durable clothing. Many local artists frequent our store knowing their clothing will serve them well when working on any of their projects. Travelers from all across the US and countries all over the world stop in our store when they recognize the Carhartt logo and are often impressed with all the products Carhartt has available. Pacific Northwest weather requires gear that will hold up in the rain; Carhartt has that gear to keep Portlanders and all of our patrons warm and dry.
Simon helped me while I was at the store and went above and beyond for me. Not sure I've ever had such great customer service. Thanks for the help, Simon. You rule!

I visit Astoria a few time a year and always try to stop in here to buy something. Staff has always been very helpful but today Dani went above and beyond! I can’t say enough good things! Good to see that people still have integrity and genuinely care again. Will come back for life! Thank you Dani!

I have mixed emotions regarding my shopping experience at the Cascade Station store. Yeli helped me place an order online for a duffle bag for my husband. I picked it up at the store today. I wanted to look at the bag so I could decide whether to keep it or not. She ripped open the clear plastic bag without realizing I wanted it intact since it was a gift. She had another employee find a new plastic bag from another bag from the back. I appreciated that, but the looks her and the male employee exchanged made me feel as if my request was ridiculous. I was uncertain whether the bag overall would be too big for my husband, so she showed me one on the floor that was stuffed and asked another male employee to hold it so I can see how it looks. That was really helpful. I asked if they stocked any smaller sizes of duffle bags in store to compare and was told they did not. She looked up duffles on the laptop for me to browse, then said she had other customers to help. I thought that was rude. I am a customer and needed help, yet was left to fend for myself. I proceeded to read the descriptions and found another bag I was interested in. I took pictures with my phone of both descriptions so I could compare them. The male employee (from earlier) came over and asked if I needed help. I told him I was trying to compare the 2 bags; the one I purchased that was 1200 denier and the other one online that is 600 denier. We discussed the differences in fabric and I asked if they had any examples on the floor so I can see and feel to compare the different weights. He showed me some bags on the floor that were made with 600 denier. I also told him I was trying to find a dopp bag like one I saw online and showed him a picture. I was trying to compare the size of the Carhartt toiletry bag with the one online. Yeli came back over and abruptly tells him he's supposed to be on break and that he's late for his break. He told her he came in 4 minutes late and said I'm still good. She again told him he needed to go on break. I was embarrassed for him. I sensed she was annoyed he was talking to me for so long and I explained that he was showing me the different fabrics. I ended up purchasing the toiletry bag. I will measure it at home and compare it with the bag that was online on my own time. Anyway, I appreciated her help over the phone and at the beginning of my in store visit, but in the end I did not feel like a valued customer.
