Let me be very clear: what happened to me at Team Town Sports was not customer service. It was a spiritual awakening delivered by a woman named Emma, who I’m now convinced is either a retired superhero, an undercover pro athlete, or an immortal being sent to guide humanity toward its athletic destiny. When I walked in, Emma didn’t just greet me — she materialized beside me with the grace of a hummingbird and the authority of a Navy admiral. She looked at me and, with a single nod, somehow knew I needed the batting cage. I didn’t even ask. She just sensed it, like a sports whisperer. Then came the swing advice. She didn’t simply stand behind me. No. Emma took her place like a master sculptor preparing to chisel marble, except the marble was my tragically mediocre batting form. She adjusted my stance with such gentle precision that I’m 87% sure she momentarily realigned my spine, healed my childhood injuries, and unlocked muscle groups I didn’t know existed. As she corrected my swing, I swear the overhead lights flickered — not because of a power issue, but because the universe itself was reacting to the sheer quality of her coaching. A distant choir hummed. The air got warmer. I’m pretty sure the pitching machine bowed slightly in her direction. At one point I hit a ball so perfectly that I’m certain it achieved orbit. If NASA calls Team Town Sports asking why a baseball is passing over the ISS, tell them to talk to Emma. By the end, I wasn’t just a better hitter. I was reborn. My confidence skyrocketed. My credit score went up 40 points. My hairline improved. Somewhere, my ancestors cheered. To summarize: Emma is the single greatest employee to ever grace any establishment. If Team Town Sports doesn’t build a statue of her in the lobby, they’re missing a huge business opportunity. 12/10. Emma didn’t just help me — she transcended the limits of customer service and changed my life forever

If customer service had royalty, Emma would be the undisputed queen of Team Town Sports. I’m convinced she must have been trained by some secret guild of retail wizards, because the way she handled everything was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped in, it was like the fluorescent lights turned golden just from her presence. Emma greeted me with a smile so genuine it could have melted a hockey puck at twenty paces. She didn’t just help me find what I needed—she anticipated what I *might* need, the way a fairy godmother already knows which equipment will fit perfectly before you even think to ask. Professional? Completely. Kind? To a mythical degree. I half expected a chorus of singing birds to follow her around the store. Shopping can sometimes feel like a quest, but with Emma guiding the way, it was more like floating through a sports‑gear wonderland where everything just clicked. I left with exactly what I wanted, a smile on my face, and the strong conviction that if there were customer‑service medals, she’d have a whole wall full of them. So yes—five shining, armor‑polished stars for Emma. A legend in Whitby retail and the kind of person who makes you believe great service isn’t extinct after all.

In terms of hockey, only come here if you know exactly what you want and you don't need their assistance. They're not equipped knowledge wise to fit you and they don't have a functional pro shop. They have the space of a pro shop but they don't have people skilled or trained to do riveting or any type of repair. They don't even sharpen by hand. They use a glorified sparx machine. You can buy your skates here, but you must know what you want out of the box right down to the size. You cannot get profiled here, which makes it a bit of a waste of your time. This would not be a competitive place to shop as there is a pro shop, full service, close by at the same prices. What you buy here is final sale, regardless of what they tell you, when they should just be taking stuff back and sending it back to the manufacturer. I can see why CCM doesn't allow their skates to be sold there. All of the other reviews here seem to be curated.

This place is nice enough and the staff is very nice but unfortunately, if you live in Toronto buying from team towns online is truly a pain. If you buy something that is not the right size or you don’t like the quality or color or anything you’ll need to either courier back the product to their Mississauga office or drive to one of the two locations. You need to drive to Whitby, which is at least 30 to 40 minute drive from Toronto or to Mississauga, which is basically the same distance. Although this store is owned by Sporting Life you cannot take back any of your product that you purchased from Team Town to any Sporting Life. I had purchased some shirts that were on sale from team town and while the delivery was super fast, some of the shirts were just not very good quality and I decided I needed to take them back, but I had to make the huge trek to Whitby. Two Nike hats I purchased were a bit too large and I was hoping that they had medium/large versus the one I had which was large/extra large. It was a bit time-consuming to get the exchange and they didn’t have the exact product to replace it with the smaller size so I ended up having to look over the racks myself and found a newer model which they did give me the sale price on. Still you end up having to go all the way to Whitby just to buy a couple of hats. So basically you end up spending money on gas and your time which nullifies the savings you made from the Sale. My suggestion is if you’re in Toronto just simply stick to sport Chek or sporting life since there’s a lot of stores and even if they don’t have the correct size that you need, they will bring it in to the store or have it delivered. The online process is just not 21st-century.

THEY SELL DAMAGED PRODUCTS - AVOID THEM AT ALL COST I ordered a Nike sweater online as a gift. It arrived with a rip, which was extremely disappointing after waiting a week for delivery. I contacted customer service for an exchange (not even a refund) and the experience was worse than the product issue itself. They asked for multiple photos (box, SKU, damage, etc.), which I promptly provided. After that, they claimed the hole was caused by a security tag—which would be their responsibility, since the price tag was attached to the neck label, not the fabric. Then they added that there were “obvious signs of wear,” even though it was only tried on once. Despite acknowledging that the damage came from their own security tag, they refused to help because the tag had been removed. Every response felt like an excuse to avoid accountability. It’s unacceptable for a company to sell damaged items, blame the customer, and deny a simple exchange. I’d strongly recommend avoiding their online store. Quality control and customer care are clearly not priorities here.
