  I probably witnessed the best example of customer service, professionalism and teamwork today. I orderd a pretty nice black wallet for $19.95 + hst. Sonali was the person at the cash register to process my order. I'm a member of AE points and she noticed that I had a $5.00 coupon that was going to expire pretty soon. She had to cancel the original order and then apply the coupon to a new order. I guess the procedure was easier said than done. Sonali called over one of the store managers Alejandra. With a little explanation I knew I was in good hands. Now, thanks to these two lovely ladies, I have a nice wallet for less than what I was going to pay before taxes on the original order. Thank you Sonali for noticing the $5 coupon and putting the procedure through with a smile and thanks to Alejandra for making sure the transaction went through smoothly. Whether you come to the store and spend hundreds of dollars or in my case just a smudge under $17, you're treated with respect and kindness. This American Eagle location has become a staple clothing, shoes or wallet store for me.

  The Reality: In a place as fast-moving as the Eaton Centre, the default atmosphere is usually one where people look past you. When that isn’t the approach, it stands out immediately. The Experience: I’ve had a complicated few months, re-establishing access to essentials most people take for granted. I didn't walk into this location in a particularly light headspace. What struck me right away wasn’t the clothes—it was the environment. Between the diversity of the staff and the inclusive tone on the floor, it was easy to just exist in the space without feeling rushed, judged, or invisible. Why it matters: American Eagle hasn't been in my regular rotation, but this visit changed that. Even without a purchase today, the quality of the customer service was noticeable—present, respectful, and human. Final Verdict: Sometimes service isn’t about a transaction. It’s about whether someone takes a moment to treat you like a person. When that happens, it means more than people realize. Huge respect to this team for creating a space that feels welcoming to everyone, regardless of what they're going through.
