  Terrible experience at Sporting Life – Richmond Hill. We drove over an hour to this location based on a phone call confirming a jacket was in stock. We even asked the employee on the phone to physically check the item before we made the trip — he put us on hold and never returned to the call. When we arrived, a different associate immediately said the jacket wasn’t in stock without even checking the rack. When we pointed out that the system showed one available, he told us to ask the cashier. After waiting in line, the cashier directed me back to the same associate, saying she had no way to check inventory. When I asked where else the jacket could be, she said “in the back” and radioed for someone to check. While I was standing with the cashier, my husband — still in the department — overhead the staff tell her they didn’t feel like checking and to just tell us they didn’t have it. We wasted a long drive for poor service and misinformation. This was not a system error — it was laziness and a lack of respect for customers’ time. Completely unacceptable

  Today I had a great experience at Sporting Life in Richmond hill thanks to Anas who helped me choose my running shoes. He was extremely patient, polite, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to listen to my needs, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable with my choice without any pressure. His professionalism and positive attitude made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. Excellent customer service—I truly appreciate his help and highly recommend him.

  Had a great experience as a beginner finding the perfect ski equipment myself. Huge shout out to Will, he really took the time to help me find everything I needed. Very pleasant interaction all the way through, your time and patience is very much appreciated, thank you Will for your fantastic service.

  I had the most wonderful experience today because of an associate named Lucas who works in the shoe dept. Lucas jumped right in to help me to buy a new pair of winter boots. He was so patient , answered all my questions and even offered to clean the bottom of my boots before I bought them! I can’t remember the last time I’ve received such great service. Thank you Lucas for your help today!

  Delighted customer service by Anas Syed Visited the Sporting Life store in Richmond Hill twice — just before Christmas and on Jan 2, 2026. Anas' service was outstanding—thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative. He listens, tries to understand, and helps. My running shoe needs are unconventional due to wide feet and plantar fasciitis; I need the softest sole and 4E width. After trying to find my usual ASICS Gel-Nimbus shoes, which SL unfortunately does not offer in 4E, he suggested HOKA, which are wider than the other brands by construction. He brought several pairs to help me find the right size. Listened to my complaint about the hard sole on the heel and he went to ask his manager for options. He also offered advice on how I can try to purchase running shoes online and use the gift card I have for Sporting Life. Anas' help epitomized customer service at its best, which is so hard to come across these days. Not only was his approach delicate, thoughtful, and non-pushy, he also was treating me as if I were a family member, not a client that was meeting him for the first time.
