  Excellent experience at this location. I interacted with 3x staff members and they were all very engaged and pleasant. Gord in the ski section was exceptional. He knew far more about the application of the products than anyone I've ever met in a retail environment. Listened carefully to my requirements and made certain I was satisfied with my purchase. It also appreciated that he had a fantastic sense of humour.

  THANK YOU GORD! I’d like to share my experience with stellar customer service provided by Gord at the Mapleview location. Back in November, I was shopping for a specific jacket for my son as a Christmas gift that appeared to have been on sale. Earlier that day, I had been to the Sherway Gardens location but the colour/size I needed was not available. I called the Mapleview store for assistance and from the moment Gord connected with me, I knew I was in great hands. Our interaction spanned several phone calls over a good hour and a half at least. Gord confirmed the sale was an in-store only offer and had to search the store for the colour/size that I needed. He took accountability and assured me that he wouldn’t rest until he found my son’s jacket! Well, he did just that! He actually put 2 jackets aside for me in different colours as I wasn’t 100% certain about the colour my son wanted. As I’d be driving in from Waterloo the next day to make the purchase, Gord said he put the jackets in his manager’s office with a note to make sure they didn’t get sold. This made my son’s Christmas and also helped my wallet! I truly hope that Sporting Life appreciates what a gem they have in Gord.

  I visited this store yesterday with my daughter to buy ski gear, and Scott was incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain everything clearly and brought out several boot options for me to ensure a perfect fit. For my daughter, he made the entire process smooth and pressure-free. Scott’s expertise and friendly attitude made the experience genuinely enjoyable. We truly appreciate the excellent service.

  I spent over an hour in Sporting Life Mapleview trying to buy basic Nike or Under Armour gear, and somehow the hardest part of the whole experience was finding a single employee who knew their department or was willing to help. I made two full circuits of the store just trying to get assistance, only to watch staff avoid eye contact like I was asking them to solve world hunger. The manager only appeared once one of the skinny teen sales-reps finally radioed that “they still had two in their section,” which was amusing since I had already wandered all over trying to locate anyone in menswear. Another associate in shoes couldn’t even direct me to the right general area of the store. The one bright spot was a passing sales rep who actually helped me find what I was looking for. By then, I had about $400 in items and five minutes before closing. Right on cue, another staff member began aggressively cleaning the exact spot I was shopping in, as if sweeping me out of the store counted as customer service. Even security had laughed earlier when I asked them to help me find someone who actually worked in menswear. As a athletic brand rep and someone who buys sportswear regularly, this was one of the least professional retail experiences I’ve had in years. It felt like I worked harder to give the store my money than the staff worked to earn it. A quick scroll through their Google reviews shows I’m not alone. One star is generous. The image sums it up but was generated.
