  I have been a loyal customer of Express for over 15 years, but after my last two in-store experiences, I will no longer spend my money with this company. I typically shop online, but recently visited the store to check my suit size in person. During my visit in early March, not a single employee greeted me or offered assistance. I clearly made eye contact with staff members who chose to ignore me entirely. Unfortunately, my follow-up visit was no better. My wife and I spent over 15 minutes browsing suits near the register and other items throughout the store. There were no other customers when we entered, and multiple employees were fully aware of our presence. One employee even walked within a couple of feet of us and still made no attempt to acknowledge us. What made the experience worse was witnessing a clear difference in treatment. When another customer of a different race entered the store, staff immediately approached and offered assistance. That contrast was unacceptable and deeply concerning. I chose to leave and take my business elsewhere. I went to a formal menswear store where I purchased a full outfit—suit, shirt, tie, socks, and shoes—and received excellent customer service from start to finish. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable. Retail is built on customer service, and basic acknowledgment should not depend on who walks through the door. I was ready to spend money, but instead was ignored and left feeling disrespected. I will not be returning.

  The cashier was extremely rude and displayed behavior that I felt was discriminatory. We were not aware that the Express credit card would be closed after one year of inactivity due to the company filing for bankruptcy. When our card was declined, we politely asked her to check the reason. Instead of helping, she responded in an inappropriate and disrespectful manner by asking, “Do you even have money to pay?” I then asked whether we needed to make a deposit money onto the credit card. She replied sarcastically, “Oh, so did you use all your money and can’t pay right now?” She did not explain the actual reason for the decline until I insisted that she answer my question and she finally explain what had happened with the bank. I have never experienced a cashier questioning whether I have money to pay when I simply asked for assistance in understanding why a card was declined—especially since we never received any email or letter notifying us that the card was closed or that the company had filed for bankruptcy. Her attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful. The interaction made us feel uncomfortable, and we ultimately left the store. This was a very unpleasant experience.

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful store — really one of the best. The Express at Penn Square Mall is very clean, very organized, just fantastic. Todd helped me out — great guy, amazing hair, really knows what he’s doing. He gave terrific recommendations and explained the quality of everything — very impressive, very professional. And he’s bilingual, which is tremendous. You don’t see that kind of service everywhere anymore. Highly recommend — you’ll be treated very, very well!
