  Today 4/18/26 was one of the most uncomfortable shopping experiences I’ve ever had at American Eagle. As a brown-skinned customer, I felt watched and judged the entire time we were in the store. We were not greeted when we walked in, yet a white couple who entered right after us was welcomed warmly and treated with noticeable kindness. The difference in treatment was obvious and unacceptable. No one should feel singled out or monitored simply because of how they look. I even brought this concern up to an associate named Anthony, asking why we were being treated this way, but nothing about the situation improved. I came ready to spend money, honestly, I could have spent a lot in that store, and even treated the associates if they had shown even a basic level of respect. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Businesses should treat all customers with basic dignity and fairness, this place failed to do that. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere until they address these issues and learn how to treat every customer equally. Racism is not acceptable, do better!!!

  Their Omni channel returns are not efficient and a hassle for customers. It will not allow you to pick up and return in the same day. I don’t want to use fitting rooms right now, bought online because of size and when trying to return or not pick up my full order based on seeing it person it would not allow me to do so. I now have to make another trip once is loads into their system. Super annoying and inconvenient for a loyal customer.
