It seems that some employees at this location, especially on Mondays, have a significant lack of understanding when it comes to sales procedures.
I visited the store to use a gift card I already had. Since there was nothing I needed at the time, I asked the cashier for help because I wanted to add additional funds and have a new gift card issued so I could give it to a friend as a gift. The cashier appeared to be a trainee and did not know how to handle the situation, so a manager was called.
However, the manager initially refused without even checking and said it could not be done. Later, the manager changed the response and said it was possible, but only by placing the additional amount onto my old, worn-out card with the previous balance already printed on it. I clearly explained that this was meant to be a gift and asked if a new card could be issued, but the manager repeatedly and firmly refused.
Given the situation, my intention should have been very clear. I am not sure whether this was due to a lack of knowledge or an unwillingness to help, but the experience was very unpleasant. I strongly believe that the staff—especially at the manager level—need additional training or corrective action.
Eventually, I contacted another store and was informed that this can be done without any issue, which forced me to go out of my way to visit a different location. This was unnecessary, inconvenient, and left me frustrated. In contrast, the other store demonstrated much better customer service.
