  I have been a frequent AE shopper for the last 15 years. I visited the Plattsburgh store 2x on 11/28/25, black Friday. The early morning crew was fabulous, happy, outgoing, ready and willing to help every customer in the store. I was supposed to have an adjustment done for a few items i had purchased a few days prior, the cashier in the morning, forgot to complete that portion of my transaction. No problem, at the end of my day I entered the store again, to complete the adjustments on my previous purchase. Aaron, the store manager was far less friendly, extremely direct, he lacked empathy and flexibility. He recited the AE return and adjustment policies in a stern and robotic fashion. As per these policies, he was unwilling to make the adjustments that I was previously told I was able to do. I'm a shopper, a frequent shopper, in AE and other popular stores such as Tjmaxx etc. I mostly write outstanding reviews and praise staff because i appreciate them. In summary, the Plattsburgh manager didn't deliver this information in a respectful or sympathetic manner, there was no flexibility, even though I made a 2nd trip into the store. Hannah and many other employees were extremely helpful and accommodating, this review is in no way directed at the other staff members. Lastly, I feel AE really needs to revisit their return and adjustment policies, they are very strict on return and adjustments, those types of policies aren't appealing to customers, ever! But as Aaron confidently stated, customers took advantage and abused policies that used to be more flexible, which lead to the current policies. 👎🏻
