  Terrible experience at this location today. We had purchased sunglasses at another one of their locations. The receipt clearly says you can return unworn sunglasses within 30 days. We were in this neighborhood - and called prior to going in to exchange what we had purchased to confirm that the return policy allowed returns at any Sunglass Hut store, and the person we spoke to confirmed this. On entering and sharing we had an exchange to make - the agent immediately shut down a bit, and shared she would need to inspect the glasses prior to accepting the exchange. She took the glasses out - took out some spray and a cloth, and then claimed there was a small scratch on the glasses, and insisted these would need to be exchanged at the location they were bought. Both my husband and myself could not see any defect despite looking at the glasses multiple times at different angles. A second agent in the store then came over the look at the glasses - and she insisted there was a mark (there was no mark, they simply did not want to accept the exchange at their store). They insisted we had to go back to the original location where we bought the glasses - we then took a taxi to Hudson Yards (causing use to lose a lunch reservation we had booked some time ago), where the agent there, happily accepted the exchange - without any embarrassing 5 minute inspection of the glasses - and only commented (in a good way) - that it is great we came in when we did as we were 2 days away from the 30 day time limit. What if someone bought these while on vacation and were not near the original store of purchase? It is OFFENSIVE that agents within stores can go ROGUE and make up whatever policies they want, and while our experience at Hudson Yards was great - this is not a company we would trust with any purchases in the future. Addition: To Luxxottica (corporate renter / Sunglass Hut), thank you for the response to my review. This said, what I would like to suggest is please read the other reviews in the forum, I did after posting my own and it was quite disheartening to see many posters share the same specific issue that I faced at your store today. What I would suggest is you need to as a Company honor your policies as promised at ALL of your stores, and in regards to your location at Columbus Circle, you clearly need to re-train both the management and staff there, and further hold them accountable for Customer Service failures such as that we faced today.

  Tried to buy sunglasses when they had 10' before closing, and one of the ladies didn't even want to help because it looked like she wanted to go home. You are getting paid to work.

  I went with my family with the intention of getting a pair of sunglasses in person, not online. I ended up buying only one of the three I was planning on buying, but the girl who was there today provided the worst customer service. I didn't like how she treated me or the way she spoke to another customer in the store. She has little empathy, she doesn't smile, and she doesn't make you feel welcome to buy! If you ask her a question, it seems to bother her! I will definitely not be back. This was my second visit in less than a month, and I refused to let that be my first impression, but on this second visit, it was not. I don't know if she's the manager, but if she isn't, the manager should take action! A customer service course would probably help!

  What a great experience we had with Nelson on Wednesday- we ended up buying two pair of sunglasses based on his fabulous recommendation’s. Great job Nelson!
