I recently had the pleasure of working with Donald Hicks at Longchamp on 5th Ave. Donald embodies every quality that defines an EXCEPTIONAL salesperson. His knowledge of Longchamp was impressive. He took the time to understand what I needed, explained the product materials and craftsmanship clearly, and offered thoughtful recommendations. Donald possesses the most important trait in luxury retail: GENUINE attentiveness. His honesty and candidness was deeply appreciated. If you’re looking for a Longchamp bag in NYC, I highly recommend connecting with Donald Hicks at the 5th Avenue location — he makes the experience truly exceptional!!!

Love my bag, but not the hospitality, especially with one employee. When I first came in to view the Le Pliage bags, I let her know which color I was interested in—the pomegranate; however, I was unsure if I wanted to purchase, or not. She went on to tell me that it was limited edition, and that is what the green tag meant. After some research, I have found out that she lied to me, and it simply means that it is part of the Green collection. I don’t believe that deceiving first-time customers is a way to guarantee sales, or a return. Additionally, I wanted to engrave my bag and she told me to write down my initials, so I did. I then asked if I needed to add the dots and she said no I did it on the computer. When I came to pick up my bag later, the bag had one dot between my two initials, without another dot at the end. I asked about it because usually for initials, there’s either no dots between the letters, or one after each letter. I had originally asked another lady, but my sales lady walked up, and they both explained that that’s how the computer does it, and a dot at the end is added upon request. I said okay and walked out. I then returned a few minutes later because I felt like I wanted the second dot. Once I returned, my sales lady was there and went on to demean me saying that it’s proper English, pulls out these bookmark looking things with the monogram examples, says that it’s by corporate and an English professor, and went on to say that the second dot that I’m wanting is “street-English.” Not only was she demeaning, but she was incorrect and attacked my intelligence. It’s one thing to say that it’s just how they do it versus making me seem dumb. I didn’t even feel comfortable getting what I wanted anymore on a bad that I paid good money for, so I just said “okay” and walked out. The whole experience was demeaning and not how you should treat paying customers.

We where going to get a bag personalized and they told us we’d have it ready by 4:00 pm, we went over to the store a 4:05 with a taxi waiting for us (which we had already paid extra for) and it wasn’t ready. They hadn’t even started it, when we got to the store they made us wait a while before telling us it wasn’t ready. A complete disaster, they said we could come at 4:00 and it wasn’t ready, still, we payed extra for the taxi and lost our time and came back to the taxi with our bag not personalized and completely dissapointed.
