Extremely disappointing shopping experience at the Tiffany store in Rockefeller Center.
From the moment I walked in, I did not feel welcome at all: no one greeted me, no acknowledgment, no attention. I had to ask for assistance regarding a bracelet priced at over $800, expecting at least a level of service worthy of the brand.
The sales associate who assisted me, Sara S*, showed me the bracelet and let me try two different sizes. When I asked if she could recommend other models, the answer was a blunt “no”, with no interest, no suggestions, and no effort to understand my needs.
I could have potentially purchased more bracelets, but the associate showed no interest whatsoever. She seemed bothered, had a long face, was rude and not friendly at all, and did the bare minimum just to make the sale.
There were no questions, no advice, no customer care. The overall attitude was cold and dismissive, making the experience absolutely negative.
This is exactly what should never happen in a brand like Tiffany. The difference between Tiffany and brands like Pandora is supposed to be the experience, not just the price — and in this case, the experience was terrible.
I will never come back.

Worst experience ever
This was one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had.
I have purchased several pieces of jewelry from Tiffany & Co. online before, and this time my partner and I visited the Rockefeller Center store hoping to try on an engagement ring in person.
I had my eye on a specific ring and politely asked, in English, if I could try it on. The sales associate (an Asian male who spoke Mandarin; unfortunately I did not get his name) immediately responded to us in Mandarin. Shortly afterward, he told us that this was a “small store,” that they were “busy,” and asked us to walk to another Tiffany location just to try the ring.
This was especially upsetting given the circumstances. It was New Year’s Day, the weather was extremely cold, and I have a leg injury. No consideration or accommodation was offered. The store was not crowded, and the associate was not actively assisting other customers at the time, which made his explanation feel dismissive rather than genuine.
I was hoping for a pleasant experience to start off the new year. Instead, this interaction
ruined the day for us. I have never experienced this kind of treatment at any other jewelry store.
Tiffany is a luxury brand known for its heritage and customer experience. Being judged based on assumptions and treated with visible indifference is unacceptable. I expected far better service given Tiffany’s reputation and price point.
I sincerely hope Tiffany management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with professionalism, empathy, and respect—regardless of language, background, or appearance.

From time to time, I like to test how I’m treated in a store when I don’t walk in with obvious status symbols like jewelry or expensive handbags — but instead just as a simple tourist.
Today, on December 30th at around 2:00 p.m., I walked into the Tiffany 5th Avenue store.
There were many people inside, and many sales associates walking around with rather empty expressions, clearly guided by appearances.
Then one sales associate looked at me — Rokshana Miah.
She smiled, came over to me and my daughters, and asked whether she could help us. I decided to test her. I told her I wanted to buy each of my daughters a small keepsake, something in the range of $200–$300 per daughter.
I was curious to see how she would react, since she might earn more commission with another customer.
To my surprise, she was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive. She didn’t try to sell the most expensive jewelry. Instead, she wanted every customer — no matter who they were — to experience that special Tiffany feeling and leave happy.
I could easily have bought more expensive pieces; for me, it was about humanity.
Ms. Miah truly has her heart in the right place. She is not an empty soul — she is someone who carries and shares the Tiffany spirit. Thank you for this Mrs. Miah
