- SBSamantha Bromberg2 days ago1.0I purchased an Essential Carry-On three years ago, in part because of the warranty—one of the main reasons I felt comfortable investing in luggage at this price point. Recently, I noticed that the polycarbonate shell has begun to crack and the lock no longer works. After only three years of normal use, I would expect a company like Rimowa to stand behind its product, especially for what are clearly quality and durability issues. Instead, I was told that none of this is covered and that I’m essentially out of luck. If structural cracking and a failed lock aren’t covered under their warranty, then the warranty is effectively meaningless. For the price of this luggage, I expected longevity and customer support. Unfortunately, I got neither. I would strongly advise others not to invest in this brand—this suitcase does not last, and the warranty will not protect you when it matters.

I went in for a small repair and decided to trade-in my 12 year old cabin case for a new one…same model…but now with a lifetime warranty for all functional repairs! Highly recommend stopping in to this store!

Given the high price, low quality and absolutely no customer service, don’t buy Rimowa. Currently, I am unable to resolve my latest damaged suitcase because Rimowa’s “customer service” team will not answer my emails nor pick up their phone. Should a suitcase really break with less than 10 uses?
