All lululemon locations have strong ties to our local communities.
Just had an awful experience LULULEMON store at their upper-westside location because I didn't fit their upper-westside criteria.
I was guilty upon entering the store because I apparently didn't t fit the upper-westside, Soho, type shopper look.
I came here to pick up my mobile order, and upon entering, I saw other clothing items I liked. I started grabbing 2 different sizes for each clothing item and was approached by a female employee who asked if I needed assistance? I said no, she then asked if I would like her to set up a fitting room, and I said yes.
She grabbed a couple of clothing items from my hand and proceeded to set up the fitting room.
Once I was finished picking out other clothing items and started walking towards the fitting room, i saw another piece of clothing, and she asked if I would like her to grab it for me? I said yes, please.
As I am changing in the fitting room, she brings me the other clothing item. I tried on a couple of clothing items and opened the door to leave the ones that didn't fit me outside. A male employee then takes the items, and I asked him if he can get me a Medium size on a shirt, and he said yes.
As I'm changing into other clothing items, security came into the fitting room.
Security stated I had too many clothing items, and I pointed straight at the female employee who helped me set up the fitting room and even called her, and she completely ignored me. Security then stated that the female employee did not see anything.
They accused me of shoplifting. I had NO bag. I was dressed with just sweatpants, a shirt, and a jacket.
They had NO probable cause for their actions.
For clarity, shoplifting is the act of taking merchandise from a store without paying for it. It can also include concealing, hiding, or carrying merchandise with the intent to take it.
I did NONE of those things.
No one should have to be profiled due to a person's ignorance and biases.. It feels degrading and insulting.

I just want to express my disappointment in your manager at the Columbus Circle NYC location 10648. I went in to exchange a shirt. I had purchased two days ago while on vacation. I wanted to exchange it for a smaller size. I’ve been a customer of Lululemon for several years and have been a loyal customer until today. I went into the store and spoke to the first person I saw. I asked her if I can swap the shirt for a smaller size. She treated me extremely sarcastic and told me no we can’t do anything without your tag. There was no other option. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. I asked for her and she told me that she does not have to give me her name. They smiled at me telling me there’s nothing we can do to help you and kept looking at the door as an indication that I should leave. I don’t think I’ve ever been disrespected 50 years of existence at a retail store. I would really suggest that you guys take some time and teach your managers how to provide customer service. I understand that they may read policies and procedures in place and it’s not about not being able to exchange the shirt. It’s more about the way, I was treated. For that reason I will never step foot in another Lululemon store in my life if this is the way that you’re going to treat your customers I don’t see you guys being an existence for very long. I am so sorry I had to experience that because I truly love your brand.
