Stopped into the Carhartt store looking for an overall bib for work, and the experience was disappointing from the moment I walked in. I’m a locksmith in New York City, always on the move, and I came in wearing my usual work clothes — a little dirty from a long day. The staff saw me and immediately gave me a look that made it clear I wasn’t welcome. No greeting, no offer to help, nothing.
I asked a few simple questions about the bibs, and instead of helping, the staff acted bothered, like I was interrupting them. I rarely ask for assistance because I usually know exactly what I’m looking for, but this time I genuinely needed guidance. I stood there for about 6–10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me, and no one did. Eventually, I just walked out disappointed.
The store itself is beautiful, clean, and well-organized — but the customer service completely ruined the visit. I expected better from a brand known for hardworking people.

I had a chance to visit the Carhartt store in Manhattan, NYC last November, and I was really impressed by how friendly the staff were. As soon as I walked in, one of the employees gave me a compliment and said I had a nice skateboard. That immediately made me feel at home.
The store itself was great - the fitting rooms were comfortable, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the prices were surprisingly good.
