I went into the Alo store at Columbus Circle after receiving an item as a Christmas gift that I wanted to exchange. After learning they didn't have either of the items in stock that I was seeking, I went to the front desk to see if they could order it online and ship it to me. The woman at the desk, who seemed to be very new to the job, said this item was sold out online and was only in stock at a store about 2 hours away in New Jersey. I asked for any and all solutions: can the store that has it in stock ship it to me, when will they be getting it back in stock, new inventory etc. Every answer was "no" or "I don't know". I also asked how long I had to exchange the item, considering it was a gift purchased around Black Friday. She had to grab her manager, while they discussed the answer to this question with confusing looks on their faces. While they were chatting, I went to Alo.com to look up their exchange policy. The manager chimed in and said "you have until January 17th". I said, "Oh, online here it says I have until January 10th for anything purchased between these dates. Where did you get Jan 17th from?" The manager replied, "I don't know, I just made it up considering other deadlines we have". I walked away defeated. I was appalled with the lack of service I received from this store, and the lack of knowledge that even these so-called managers had.
A few days later, I went into the Alo Williamsburg store in Brooklyn. The gentlemen at the desk was immediately able to order the item in my size online and ship it to me for free. Even though the item was on backstock, he processed my order in about 5 minutes.
The difference in service and knowledge between the two stores is baffling. I won't be returning to the Alo Columbus Circle store. I am also hesitant to order Alo items in the future given the lack of sizes/stock they have in their stores.

I recently visited Alo Yoga at Columbus Circle and had a positive experience overall. Based on prior reviews, I adjusted my expectations, particularly given the smaller size of the store. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the staff on the floor, which set a nice tone for my visit.
While I did notice that it took some time to get the right sizes, I appreciated the dedication of the employees, who appeared well-trained and genuinely kind. Retail environments can be challenging, especially with demanding customers, so I empathized with the staff during my visit. I was clear about what I was looking for, which helped make the experience smoother.
The store was quite crowded and had a lively atmosphere. I waited patiently for the dressing room, and despite the busyness, I successfully found what I needed and was able to complete my shopping relatively quickly. Overall, I left feeling satisfied with my experience, and I believe that with some improvements in communication, like investing in walkie talkies, the process could be even more efficient.

Went to the Columbus circle location at 645p and was not allowed entry. Online it says the store is open until 8p. This is the second location today that would not let me in even though they said they were open.

Terrible customer service. Won’t pick up the phone when I called to ask if they had an item in stock and pretty rude in person as well.

I’ve been to this store twice, on separate occasions, and had the same experience both times: unwelcoming, unhelpful staff with little interest in assisting customers. At this price point, that level of service is unacceptable.
