I visited on Sunday afternoon. There were two female employees — one had a blank expression, and the other looked like she didn’t want to be there and was forcing herself to work. From the moment my girlfriend and I walked into the store, we felt uncomfortable.
After selecting the clothes we wanted to purchase, I asked the employee at checkout, “If I sign up for Hugo or download the app, can I get a discount?” Before I could even finish my question, she rudely cut me off with a blunt “No,” in an unpleasant tone.
My girlfriend had been told just three days earlier by another employee that downloading the app would give a 10% discount, which is why I was asking. But this employee interrupted me mid-sentence with an extremely rude attitude and a disgusted facial expression.
When handing me the receipt, she folded it roughly and gave it to me in a way that felt like she was saying, “Hurry up and leave.”
I have never encountered such an impolite employee in 10 or even 20 years.
My mother actually enjoys taking a long bus ride all the way from Queens to shop at this store and buy gifts for people around her. However, I am now concerned about how this employee might treat an older Asian woman like my mother. Because of this, I have told her not to visit this store again.
As for me, I will not return to this store as long as that employee is working there.
For a large company like Hugo, proper employee training is absolutely necessary. If someone doesn’t want to work, they should just go home.
Very disappointing experience. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. I had simple questions about sizing and felt like I was bothering them just by being in the store. There was a clear sense of arrogance and zero customer service, which is the opposite of what you expect from a premium brand like Hugo Boss. I enjoy the clothing, but this location made me not want to return.

Amazing customer service. Especially Gwen. That’s the only location I go to

Very disappointing experience at the Hugo Boss store in Manhasset. I was assisted by a sales associate named Gwen while processing a simple return, and she was extremely rude and unfriendly—no eye contact, no courtesy, and no effort to provide basic customer service. No questions were asked, no acknowledgment was given, and the interaction felt dismissive from start to finish. This is not the level of service I expect from a premium brand.
I am only giving them one star because I have to. I am loyal to the brand but definitely not going back to this store, worst customer service I have experienced. Gap has better customer!!!
