2nd part of my review. Still give -stars
As I exited the store, I noticed the greeter and sales floor employee whispering and again avoiding eye contact, further solidifying that I had not imagined this humiliating experience. As if their stares were not enough they did not even thank me for stopping by the store, nor said bye, I just felt scrutinized again. My time of purchase on my receipt was exactly 1:08PM. To put this into perspective it was approximately 25 minutes in this store but the whole experience was so horrible that I took the necessary time to write this review and make sure everyone knows what kind of store this is. I have worked in customer service myself for 6 years at these very outlets. I know what respectful customer service looks like, and I know what targeted surveillance and racial profiling looks like. This was the latter, without question. This horrible experience was not only disappointing but disgusting. I no longer feel comfortable shopping at Offline, nor at their sister stores Aerie or American Eagle also located at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park, which I’ve previously supported and had nothing like this happen before at those stores. No one should have to experience this kind of discriminatory treatment especially in a place where they are simply trying to shop. After this whole experience I don’t recommend anyone to walk in unless you want to be followed around for being a person of color and racially profiled. The employees and the brand Offline should be completely ashamed and disgusted by how they treat an any customer of color, when they haven’t done anything to merit such scrutiny. I will be placing formal complaints with the necessary agencies.

Wish I could give -stars. I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an upsetting incident of racial profiling that occurred at the Offline store in the Deer Park Outlets today on August 20th, 2025, that started at approximately 12:40PM. What should have been an enjoyable experience quickly turned into one of discomfort, embarrassment, and frustration due to the actions of every employee working at the time —a total of four staff members. I walked in and there was a greeter who told me about all the sales they had going on, but as she was telling me, I could tell that she was looking at me a certain way. I tried to not think much about this. Initially I looked at the regular priced items. However, I made my way to the back clearance section, which had several other shoppers—none of whom appeared to be people of color. At first I was just minding my own business looking at the sales rack they had on the wall, I was looking through the tops and I grabbed one top on a hanger that I liked. I moved onto the floor sales rack. While browsing, I noticed I was being closely followed and monitored by staff under the guise of “cleaning” around me. This behavior was excessive and clearly targeted, as no other customers were receiving the same level of attention or scrutiny. I tried to think this was just a coincidence until I noticed that she would not move further than about 4 feet from me. While I tried to ignore it, this is when I kept noticing that she was just staring at me and only me after some time she proceeded to come up to me. She asked me if I would like any help, I politely declined and told her I was good but thanked her. While I was still looking through the sales rack and now had two items in my hands. I noticed that the fitting room employee was now “cleaning” around me. She proceeded to come up to me and asked me if I wanted her to take my items to the fitting room and get it ready for me. I politely declined and told her I was not looking to try on, but thanked her for offering. Both employees continuously hovered near me, stared, and offered unnecessary “assistance” —despite my polite refusals. Their conduct went beyond customer service and instead felt intrusive and accusatory. At this point so they would know I was not planning to steal I purposely kept the clothes in my hand visible and away from my shopping bag while also staying in visible areas. But this is not something I should need to be doing in order to shop when I’m a paying customer but being wrongfully accused. This is when I noticed that I was one of the two customers in the back that were still looking at the sale rack, however they did not go up to the other customer once. After a couple minutes the sales floor associate came up to me for the second time and asked me if I wanted her to hold my items while I decided if I wanted to try on, I politely declined again and told her I was going to purchase the items but was still shopping. This is when I had gotten frustrated and just embarrassed by their specific targeting, the scrutiny by which they had been following and watching me, which was uncalled for. I’m not one to make a scene or confront a situation like this but enough was enough. I decided to speak up and as she was turning around, I told her she could take the items to the register for me as they were all clearly staring at me and following me around as if I was shoplifting. She looked at me and had a small mocking giggle and proceeded to say oh no and gave no explanation and just took the items with her. While I continued to shop all I could think about was the horrible experience that was taking place ever since I walked in. I no longer felt comfortable enough to shop around, so I went up to the register to pay for my two items. Even during checkout, the cold demeanor of the cashier reinforced my suspicion that I had been unfairly labeled and talked about by the staff.

Jannae and Sam were so helpful and kind. They helped me find everything I needed and looked up all the stuff I wanted to order. I usually hate going into retail stores but they were just so welcoming. I loveeeee the quality of the clothing too!
