- NSNoni SellsMar 29, 20261.0Do not get on board with this Smart Start Company. They are very difficult to get in contact with. They are not fully accessible and are not very knowledgeable when questions arise for personal and mechanics maintenance. Charges are ridiculous for each violation when blows are accidentally missed. The local calibration I chose to use are only opened on Wednesdays. The handset continuously restart to having you to blow randomly with 3 or so minute countdowns. Maybe they’re all the same 🤷🏻♀️

What do I need to bring to my installation?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?

Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
