Wow, C C Mouldings, Inc -- What a great find, what a great place to fulfill my woodworking needs! Save yourself some time and effort. Go here first. Just do it!
First of all, last year for a remodel, I discovered CCM when I needed about a dozen high quality custom door transitions, each different, in hickory and oak, plus a houseful of door casings.
Sitting down with Jim and Matt, it was a real pleasure to work out the exact dimensions and finishes of the transitions I needed. Also, being 100 miles away from Albuquerque, getting it right the first time means a lot, preventing back and forth trips etc. Everything went perfectly. The dimensions were spot on, and all of the beauties they created fit perfectly. One trip to Albq for the order, and one to pick it up – all done.
So then, when it came time to make something more complicated, more valuable, and more important, I knew I’d get excellent results at CCM because of their quality and approach. I took them an idea, a creation that I needed to have designed and built to display a delicate but heavy, and very expensive one-of-a-kind art object, that, combined together, would make up a surprise gift for a very important head of a company I’ve been working with - someone I wanted to impress with something he could display at his company for his customers, and something that would show my appreciation for what he has done for me.
In short, this was a unique project that absolutely had to be perfect in appearance, in elegance, in function, and in complementing the expensive piece of art.
I came up with an idea, then improved it a few times, even made a rough mockup in my workshop, so that we could talk from that. I then took it to Jim and Matt to discuss and get their ideas.
They had very valuable ideas and suggestions, and what they came up with greatly exceeded what I had envisioned. It would look better, be stronger and more durable in holding the art piece, and the design would complement my art object so much better than what I had come up with.
This certainly reinforced the fact that Jim and Matt are exactly the kind of people I wanted and needed to design and build this project.
On the design side, both of them are thoughtful, creative, skilled at choosing the right materials, able to suggest multiple options, flexible, and attentive to my leanings, wishes, and tastes. It’s easy to see why CCM has been in business for decades, as they have lots of experience on many different kinds of projects, and they treat customers like they’re family, like you want to be treated – friendly, engaging, and professional.
On the production side, they are very skilled at building the perfect manifestations of the agreed upon designs.
To top it off, the project was completed well within my timeframe. It was very reasonably priced, fitting well within my budget. And throughout the project, communication of details and status updates was all excellent. They went the extra mile to ensure all details were covered and double-checked, and to make sure the project would come out perfect the first time.
When I went to pick up the completed object, I was completely blown away by the beauty, the quality, the balanced dimensions, the beefiness and strength, and the attention to detail - everything exceeded my wildest expectations. When I combined my light-colored art object with the dark walnut display, the contrasting results were nothing short of stunning!
When my friend opened it up, he too was overwhelmed. On a video conference for us clients he even held it up to the camera and said it was one of the most impressive, elegant gifts he has ever received!
So, what else can you possibly ask for? CCM is the place to go for any kind of woodworking project, no matter how intricate or complex. You’ll be extremely satisfied with your whole experience, as I was. But if it’s a gift, your only regret, like mine, will be that you won’t get to keep it for yourself!
Thank you so much Jim and Matt for a job well done, and an experience much appreciated!
