I had a terrible experience at this Sunglass Hut location, mainly because of the employee Madison. From the moment I walked in, her energy was off. She didn’t smile, didn’t say welcome in or hi. Instead she looked me up and down like I didn’t belong there. She was in the middle of training someone and I could hear her being rude and condescending to the new employee. That already made me feel uncomfortable.
I was coming in to buy a pair of Ray-Ban Meta transition sunglasses. I already knew I wanted to purchase them before I even walked in. After a while of watching her mistreat her coworker, she finally came over to help me, but she had such a nasty attitude saying exactly, “What are you looking for? Do you need help”. I told her I wanted to buy the ray ban transitions meta sunglasses.
While ringing me up, she asked if I wanted the protection plan, which I get is required of them, but the way she said it completely threw me off. I said no, and then she goes, “Are you sure about that? Because when you people come in and complain about a scratch, we’re not going to fix it.” Excuse me?? I don’t know who she meant by “you people,” but that was completely inappropriate and offensive.
To make it even worse, when I got home and opened the box, I realized she sold me the wrong pair. So I had to go back the next morning. Unfortunately, she was there again.
I walked in, said “Hi, how are you?” trying to be nice, and she immediately hit me with attitude: “Can I help you?” while looking me up and down again. I told her I needed to exchange the glasses for the correct ones. She said, “We don’t have those here. We’re out of stock.” So I asked if I could return them and I’ll just order them online, and she said, “No, they’re out of stock online too. We don’t know when they’ll be back . Actually they don’t exist anymore.”
I was already frustrated, but I kept it calm and asked to just return them. After the return, she told me that since I returned them, they wouldn’t call me when the product came in again and how they would have called me if I didn’t return them.
I didn’t feel like arguing or asking for a manager. But the worst part? I checked online after I left and guess what? The exact pair I originally wanted was available. Just to be sure, I had someone else go in and ask about them and Madison offered to sell it to them. So what’s her problem? Is she picking and choosing who gets to buy sunglasses?
Now I’m just waiting and hoping I actually get my money back. But honestly, the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve never been treated like that by a store associate for literally just trying to buy something.
Do better, Sunglass . This isn’t okay.

I picked up a pair of sunglasses from the shelf and told the associate that this is the pair I like. It had all kinds of fingerprints from other customers trying them on. Instead of bringing me a new pair, a young lady pulled out a spray, sprayed a few times, wiped with a cloth, and put in a bag for me. 2 days later I came back to return because I needed prescription version and they started looking at the lens like scientists. Found 2 tiny scratches and told me they are not refundable. While I am explaining the cashier that I just got them and I picked them off the shelf, and other people were trying them on, this other young lady working there drops a pair of sunglasses on a concrete floor and I asked if that is a normal practice. Anyway, after a few minutes of begging and explaining the cashier decided to call her manager and the manager approved the refund. Their credit card machine didn't work so they gave me a yellow slip. 2 days later they called and asked me to come to the store because their machine started working, so I came. I swiped my card, got a receipt and went home. 2 weeks later my refund is still not in my bank account! I called customer service twice and they have a manager there, Brian. He explained me that the reason why I don't have my sunglasses, nor my money is because I am not patient enough. He said he will certainly write a letter to their finance dept and ask them to hurry.
I still don't have my refund. I had to beg for it in the store, I had to spend my time calling them twice, talking to some Brian who just wants to go home and have a beer. And nothing.
UPDATE: Just got refund credited this afternoon 5-17-2018
Total days: 14 days (2 weeks)
